Tell us about your 'oddball' shotguns

Steyrtac - isn't that a baby Bretton-Gaucher? A French gun that is as oddball as it gets. Yours looks a little older than most I have seen. A nice gun that always gets people talking.

Edited to add - I replied before I noticed that there was another page to this thread - sorry.

I'm cheating here (I don't own one of these :( and it isn't exactly a shotgun), but I couldn't resist sharing this with you when I found it. This is but one of the over 2100 antique firearms in the Glenbow museum's collection.

Knowing that, I'm even more enthusiastic about a pheasant hunt in Southern Alberta.

My scattergun isn't really an oddity, it's a Baikal over/under that I had cut down to 22 inches. My son blasted his first deer with it on Tuesday and he likes it better as a short shottie too.......

I have a Belgian made Janessen Sons & Co. double barreled 12 Ga.hammer gun. It is stamped Fine Damascus Finish on the barrels, actually not damascus. It has a lion's head carved into the pistol grip. My grandfather told me he paid $13 for it and his father thought that was a ridiculous price for a shotgun. I have two Savage model 315's that are "hardware store" branded. One is a "Riverside Arms" 12 Ga. and I have a "Ranger" .410 that was the first gun I ever owned. I believe this is a Sears & Roebuck brand name. My grouse gun is an Angelo Zoli 20Ga. O/U. but it is only marked "Silver Snipe" took a bit of research to figure out who made it. Antonio Zoli is still in business, but Angelo is NLA. My other shotgun is a Remington 870TB trap 150'th aniversary model (1966). I have a Beretta Sporting Clays, but that isn't unusual.

If you can believe it, the shotguns have just arrived last week at the Canadian Importer, so I will get them hopefully the end of next week... I can't believe it was in October 07.

Wow - old thread, neat though.

I have a BRNO ZH201 O/U with double triggers. Rather Spartan, but it locks up with very pleasing "clack".

It has 2 things which I consider unique: 1) it was originally choked Full/Full. I don't get having a double with 2 triggers and 2 identical chokes; 2) The trigger configuration:

- double triggers
- forward trigger fires the top barrel
- rearward trigger fires the bottom barrel
- rearward trigger will also fire the top barrel on it's second pull.

Another thing which is just a little weird, the LOP is a very short 13.25". I have since had the chokes opened to cyl/mod and it has become my wife's gun.

i've got a 12 guage single shot marked "mass arms co: chicopee falls, mass- don't know wheterh it's a copy of the cooey/winchester /whater model 37 or the other way round-
funny no body yet has listed the high standard model 10- now that's a wierd shotgun
