Heads up for anyone considering Tenda Canada’s Best Price Guarantee. I recently requested a price match on a rifle that was publicly advertised at a lower price from SFRC during their recent Valentine’s Day sale. At the time of my order and for several days afterward, SFRC had the same rifle discounted from its original price, plus a 14% promotion automatically applied and free shipping, a sale open to all customers.

Tenda denied my request, citing internal “interpretations” not mentioned anywhere in the policy, including exclusions for promotional pricing on competitor sales that use “coupon” codes and shipping adjustments, even if publicly available and automatically applied at checkout. Earlier in my correspondence with Tenda, they acknowledged that the price difference could be considered minus shipping, but that rationale was later backtracked after "management" reviewed this request.

The published policy states that Tenda will honor lower advertised prices on identical in-stock items within 7 days of purchase. In practice, promotional sales are not honored at all, making this policy little more than a farce. Other retailers with similar Best Price policies have honored these types of sales, yet Tenda refuses.

I’m quite disappointed, being a long-time customer, but this will be my last purchase from Tenda.

Has anyone else run into this with Tenda?

If SFRC had the item cheaper, why didn't you buy it from them?

Tenda's policy:
"Best Price Guarantee
If you find a lower advertised price at a Canadian competitor’s website with the same item in-stock, Tenda Canada will honor such ad prices on identical merchandise (brand and model) at the time of sale or within 7 days of purchase. Price Match purchase could NOT be paid by discounted gift card purchased from the promotion. We reserve the right to modify the terms of our price match guarantee from time to time."

I think if the item was not advertised at the lower price, but reduced via coupon code, then it's not really an advertised price. Cabela's won't price match a price reduced by a coupon, I doubt many other retailers would either.

I've had retailers sell me something that was advertised as "in stock", only to be told that it was backordered with no ETA after they had my money. They then told me there would be a 5% restocking fee if I wanted my money back. That's a bullsh!t policy. I swore them off after that experience.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. I wouldn't write off Tenda because of this.

I've run into this problem with Bass pro. I typically would tell people "just get me a bass pro gift card" when asked what I want for holidays etc... Never know why someone is trying to buy from a particular store.

Needless to say, with Bass Pros ####ty inventory and their 150km from store price match policy, along with them being able to decide the amount of items they'll price match, I no longer shop there. Visa gift cards please, thanks.

Yes, it’s partly my fault for not shopping around, but the baseline price at SFRC before the Valentine’s Day promotion was already lower than Tenda’s price. Even then, Tenda refused to honor a price match, claiming later that when they “looked into it” days after my request, the item was out of stock. I even took screenshots at the time showing the item in stock at the lower advertised price but they chose to ingore this.

This policy exists for a reason, and for them to deny it in these circumstances makes no sense.

No,disappointing is receiving this for $400

so you spend all this energy fnn around did you buy the one with the discounted price or are you just slamming outlets because you have nothing better to do
buy it where you find it and move on

The worst of it is that even if you decide to purchase from Tenda, they will only refund your over-pay during checkout with store credit.
You'd have to be crazy to actually buy and use the Tenda price match system. It's atrocious for the buyer.

Haven't had a bad experience with Tenda, I'll be submitting an order tomorrow through them, SFRC from what I've learned is like Canada Tire, just wait another couple days and there will be a 12-16% off sale with free shipping (some exclusions apply). Usually Tenda will price match or give you the difference I
Back in a gift card/credit.

Best store out there, along with 🎯
