Test Day with LRB M25

Now the snow has mostly gone I can get some practice in. Yesterday I did some load development with the new LRB M25. Best load was as follows:



168 g Hornaday BT
Winchester Brass
FGMM Primers ( am out of WRR )
41.0g of H 4895



Five Shots = 0.606" (centre to centre). Almost coverable with a Quarter.

I am still struggling to pass the 1.5 MOA accuracy challenge but yesterday was quite calm and this load looks to be the most promising so, if I do my part, I think I have a chance.

It's aM25 Medium Match which is a M14-type rifle made by LRB out of NY. The M25 has a built in mounts that accept a scope rail. Very best way to attach a scope to a M14. Scope is Leupold MK4 8.5-25x50.

For those who would like to know, one can buy approx 6.5 Norinco's for the price of one LRB M25.
 
I have a springfield armory m1a supermatch. I like yours. I've been pondering scopes. Thanks for the advice.
 
The M1A Supematch is also awesome. I have a M1A National Match which I haven't yet scoped. I suspect the M1A's may be capable of even better accuracy due to the glass bedding ( LRB doesn't bed rifles ). I am going to take the irons off my M1A and install a CASM from M14.ca and see what it can do.

Big deal with LRB's are the fact that each one is a custom build using a forged receiver ( like Norcs ) and the use of lots of real m14 parts.
 
Nice shooting....thats better than a lot of bolt guns group, my guess is that it put a smile on your face...did you let in cool much between shots in that group?

I shot steady - shoot/reacquire sight picture/steady breath/shoot.

Gas remained on - no choice I have USAMU unitized gas system :)
 
Dam, you got your's already? Mine finally made it to Irunguns. Maybe next time I'll be sure to not mispell my email address and slow the whole process down. I'll be getting a kreiger heavy barrel on mine. Can't wait to see what it's capable of doing, espesially after seeing that group. Congrats on your rifle and and nice shooting.
 
Dammit... I won't be able to look at my M305 the same again. One more for the "must-have" list. Gonna need to win the lottery at this point.

I don't understand why you can't turn the gas off with a USAMU unitized gas system. Can you elaborate please? Thanks.
