So thanks to this thread I spent almost 2hrs in the bush yesterday. Was a good work out. Snow is still pretty deep didn't see a single rabbit. Oh well. It was nice a quiet. Spotted Turkey tracks. Some form of predator tracks. I tried to take a pic but the prints in the snow didn't work well with the phone.

When the evergreen cover of spruce trees is so thick, that it blocks out the sunshine and if you trip and fall the entwining branches tend to cushion your fall, you are in the right place for hunting rabbits in NE Alberta.
His very similar words have been the ultimate truth for myself and my hunting buddies since.
