That sideways thread.

There are about 5 rifles in that price range I would buy long before an XCR. The price tag is huge, and the one I handled was less than impressive. It's very ergonomic but that's about it.

The 'real-appeal' is it's 'black-223-Non-Restricted' status.
I'd however still get the AR180B before it (due to price - almost $1000 difference) :)

I like the XCR though. Perhaps when 7.62x39 caliber conversions kits are on the market it might sway me at the current price tag.
Heck, if a 7.62AK XCR were to appear I might get it since there is nothing else to compete with it (minus the Mini-30).

Wolverene is the exclusive distributor for Robarm for Canada and has done a good job representing the product.John worked with them to bring in the m96 years ago and stuck with them through a few production problems and recalls.I dont think Robinson would sell to anyone else.

my first black rifle was a AR 15 SP1 carbine back around 1981, had to get a smith to silver solder an FN type extended flash hider, take it down to the police station and change it from restricted to regular non register status (that was the law back then, god i am getting old, any of you cgn'er born then?)

the xcr is a terrific rifle, notwithstanding that i do not own one. i had looked forward to getting one, and it was not about the extra price (we can all save by cutting down the eating and drinking out for a few months, lol)

but i understand that the stock has to be fixed and not folding, which i thought was the most attractive feature of the design (as compared to the colt AR), and akin to the fn fal paratrooper design

the wolverine site shows photos of the xcr with and without the hinge, so that is kinda confusing, although i recall they said it must be a fixed stock for canada.

for now, and i am not bashing the xcr, but the next black rifle to get and play with is going to be a tavor (costs be damned). regards.

Yep... If someone would manufacture folding adaptor here in Canada, it would be super... Importing legaly is almost impossible due to current moronic US gun laws.
