Had a new barrel spun on by insite arms.
Chambered in 6xc, it's a hardy blank, surgeon action and a huber trigger.
Chamber looks like it was cut by aliens with advanced laser technology.

This was rounds number 6 to 15 down the pipe, first five were used to zero and chrono at 100 yards. Then out to 300 with these ten rounds.
The ammunition was stuff I had left over from the old Krieger barrel. And this was my first time out shooting this year, sadly.
Not bad for a new barrel with old ammo and a rusty guy driving it. They do a hell of a job over at insite...

big bears target with Ruger RPR.

Just shot this group over the weekend with my customized Tikka T3 in 6.5 Creedmoor at 300 yards. Gun and target posted for attention lol. The blue dot is 0.75" wide and the shots was taken at Mission and District Rod and Gun Club, BC.

Kudu's target.

OnTarget insists that it is smaller than what is written beside the target. I ran it twice.

Very nice shooting.

My range is still closed under a fire ban so my boomstick is grounded, no new challenge attempts from me :(

Well Sh!t!!!

It doesn't count but I'm still posting it!

Got played by the wind today. Same setup as my previous entry, group only slightly bigger, but using 55 gr V-Max instead of 50 gr Z-Max. Everything else in the load is the same. I found out the bullets are essentially interchangeable, the only reason I actually posted this.

Good effort RangerPark, it happens to us all. I put 9 under 2" last week and hooped 1. Next time.

Unless I missed one, no "boomers" on the list. 1 300WSM I believe. Good point to note for those looking to build a paper punching rig. Unless there is a need of higher energy at long range no advantage to the big mags? I suppose as the range increases the wind calls and not the actual capability of the rifle and shooter become paramount. I realize that many are limited by available ranges close to them.

I can't dial my boomer down to 300 like many others I would imagine as well.May have to start a new thread with , ya know, further distances(which I would fail miserably at but who cares) for appropriate chamberings.Could many here put 10 into 10" at 1000 yards?

Could you not hold under using the reticle once the turret is bottomed out? What distance is your boomer zeroed for?

40 MOA base , I got on target at 500 with the reticle, suppose I could dial the magnification back as well.Zeroed for 1,000 yards.

Could try a 500, or 750 , 1,000 yard challenge maybe.

Mind you I still have to improve my 300 yards group a great deal first!

Ah I see. It could be done at 300 using a taller target. If you can aim on target at 500, that should hit between 15 - 20 inches high at 300 depending on what you're shooting.

Bush has been closed here for a while, but I will give it a go with my 338 edge in the next couple weeks. I had a 9 shot ladder test at 300 go under 3" before the bush got shut. To bad the ladder didnt really tell me much. My 300wsm has been putting 9 under 2" then a flyer putting it out to 3", going to work on my brass prep (and try some norma brass) to see if I can get rid of the flier.

I have the 300 wsm results in this challenge and only use Norma Brass (for the 300 wsm, Lapua for everything else.) I can't compare it to other brass for the 300 but I do like it a lot. I'm around 8-9 reloads with it so far and primer pockets are still good, plus I anneal every 3-4 shootings.
