The .270 Win club, are you in?

Yes, I have one..... a Rem 700 in .270 Win with Leupold VariX III 3.5-10x40mm.

My update, I finally scored a very nice pre 64 Win 70 in .270 as well. Have a B&L Elite 3000 3-9x40mm on it for now but I may switch scopes with my other .270 above.

NAA.

My "GoTo" is a beat up Ruger 1B with a Loopy 2.5x8Vari-X2 scope.

bought it around 1986, used it for everything. shoots everything very well out to 300 yds.

needs the wood refinished, and perhaps the metal work touched up, but it is a shooter.
I mounted the scope myself as I had no choice, and have never had to reset it since!

24 years of reliability!

I'm in & will never leave the club. Have a Howa 1500 stainless with the green Hogue overmolded stock. She folds up big Alberta mulies like cheap card tables. I might as well sell my 300win mag and use the funds to by more ammo for the 270.

I don't like the 4x4's. Too cheap and too funny looking. For a similar price point get a savage or a Marlin XL7. For an Entry level gun, I wouldn't overlook a Rem 700 sps either. Find one used for a good price, and it'll be a great gun for your kids!

I'll be joining this .270 real soon. Just ordered a Winchester M70 Featherweight Stainless in .270 Win from Epps. Winchester's site seems to suggest they are something of a Shot Show limited run, and I didn't see any shops other than Epps carrying them.

Just joined Gunnutz. My new gun is a Tikka .270 with a Zeiss 3 X 9 optic, Can hardly wait to shoot it. Considered other calibers, especially 7mm 08 but versatility and availability of ammo won me over to the /.270.

I own 2 .280's, both in Rem 700 Mountain Rifles. They're great.
I just picked up a Winchester M70 XTR Featherweight in .270. It's a pushfeed, stainless metal, and a factory McMillan stock. I think these were called the Winlite. I nabbed it off the EE and it arrived last week. I haven't got any glass on it yet, but hope to rectify that soon.
So, I guess I'm in the club now, but I've yet to attend my first meeting.

I got a Ruger M77 Mk1 in 1982 for my birthday, in .270, and with 150 grain Nosler Partitions she's taken plenty of moose, and with 130 grainers she's taken dozens of deer. No complaints!

I'm in but not entirely by choice. I live in a Southern Ontario county where there is a calibre restriction. Nothing bigger than .275" but the .270 is in because the measurement is of the rifle bore not the bullet. :)

Current .270 is a Sako Model 75. Previous incumbents were a Ruger #1A, Winchester Model 70 and a Beretta 502S (a rebadged Sako.) Should have kept the Ruger.
