The .270 Win club, are you in?

My first hunting rifle was an entry level Remington model 700, with a $500 Leupold 3x9x30 scope. I'm the nervous type of hunter who only shoots when the conditions are right and the animal is stationary... (fears of losing a wounded animal in the thick brush I suppose). I've taken white tail and a moose so far. Recently switched to a 300 win mag in an XCRII but I still bring them both to the range and the paper is always dead afterwards...

My Weatherby Vanguard S2 in .270 with upgrades complete and ready to go! (upgraded stock, Warne rail, Nikon Monarch 3 4-16 BDC, Caldwell bipod, detachable mag kit)

Love this gun! I'll never give it up!

I've got two. They fell in my lap.

I'm blessed by having good friends. Fellow named Richard gave me a beautiful classic 1953 Husqvarna 270 in an FN action and Tom gave me a 1957 Husqvarna 4100 Lightweight 270.

While Im still a member of the .270 club, i have not attended many events of late, i have however bought into the 7mm08 rem gang...

I can certainly notice the difference , and how the 270 has that Edge.

I'm in! After owning many other calibers a I just got a 270 win in a kimber 84L Classic select topped with a VX-3 2.5-8x36. It's a keeper as it shoots within its accuracy standard with factory sst's. I have some 130 ttsx and some 140 accubonds to load up with h4831sc.

Well, I've got a Kimber 84L Montana in 270.

In a couple of months, I look forward to seeing how it shoots. It feels *very* nice, fits like a glove, and is some of the prettiest machining I've ever seen.

Quite an odyssey, though!

My first rifle in 1981 was a Ruger tang safety M77 in .270, the older gent at the Langley Gun Shop said it got the job done on anything with antlers, ammo was everywhere, and it had a bit less kick for a young lad than the '06, so I'd enjoy practicing more. With a trigger job and a good scope it's still my deer rifle, and I shot plenty of deer, moose, and elk over the past 35 years with it. These days, as I just use it for deer, I shoot 140 grain Accubonds out of it for their ballistics...but it seems to be deadliest, (in terms of bang-flop), with the old 150 grain Nosler Partitions.

I miss Al, he was grumpy but he was usually right! ;-)

Just picked up a 270 xcrll. Just have to decide which scope to mount now

Nice choice. My xcr2 is in 30-06 shoots great.
I put a vx3 3.5-10 on it. And switched out the stock.
Very underrated rifle and now being sold for 800$ and sometimes under

They are what I settled on as well.

Not in the .270 club, can't imagine I ever will be.

Nothing against it (although reading some of the .270 hate is entertaining !), just don't need it.

.308 is a better all around cartridge to me and not much I can't get done with it.

Back into the 270 club at last.
Earlier this year Kimber 84L Classic in 270 Winchester.
What a nice rifle.

When someone asks about what light weight rifle to get, I always suggest a kimber and I particularly like the 84L. Even the walnut stocked kimbers are light. My rifle is a Mountain Ascent 270 win and I love it. Enjoy your new rifle.
