The .270 Win club, are you in?

No longer in the .270 Club as of Saturday.
Feeling a bit lonely.
Going to have to wait till next year to join back up if I do at all.
A great cartridge it is but it was time to spend more time with the Roberts family.

700 ADL, bedded and free floated....quickly becoming one of my favourites. Worked up a 130gr load that shoots good but it also shoots cheap blue box federal 150's into -1 inch groups. Used it and the federal 150's this year to take a moose, a bear and a deer...all one shot, drop on the spot kills. Whats not to like?

yep, me too! I would take a short action any day.

I sold all my 270 Win. chambered rifles, but I'm still in ...... sort of..... Bill Leeper built me a 270 - 08 a few years ago on a 700 Ti short action and it is a sweet shooting rifle.
Its just a whisker over 6 lbs. scoped and handles any bullet I loaded in the 270 Win. with amazing accuracy, just a tad slower.

That was a caliber I hadn't had so to fill that void, I picked up a model 3000 Husqvarna:D from a gentleman on this site, Why not? . Just getting into reloading for it now:).

Double tap??

In addition to the model 3000 Husqvarna, I now also have a model A III Sako

A Remington sportsman 78 in 270 was my go to rifle for quite a few years during the late 80's & 90's.
It saw use in Alberta,BC and Labrador and I put a lot of meat on the table with that one.
I'm still in though, currently shooting a marlin XL-7 and its just as good if not better than the first one.

Here's my .270 along with this years harvest. There's not much love for the 4x4 out there, but I absolutely love mine! Topped it off with Burris Zee rings and a 3-9x40 Nikon Prostaff. It'll shoot better than I'm capable of.

Back in on the Club scene!

Got into reloading for the Rem700 .270 and am all up an running shooting reasonable groups an poked some windows through a fallow the other evening.

After shooting several larger calibres for a while now, You really appreciate the .270 for what it is...

cheers
