The 30-30 club, are you in?

Marlinsightin.jpg

My current 336A, DOM 1958. Deluxe wood and a Weaver K2.5. A keeper.
I also have a 1957 Win 94 and have owned several other .30-30's, a half-dozen 94 carbines, a 336C and a 336A in .30-30 Ackley, and a Savage 340.

A little over 40 years ago, a Mod. 94 30-30 rifle, 26" barrel as I recall, with the original tang peep. Used it for
deer hunting for a couple of years. It went on a trade for a Model 12 Skeet gun, as I had another deer gun
in the rack ... a Model 92 converted from 44-40 to 44 Magnum.

1967 Canadian Centennial model 94 octagon barrel carbine 30 30, not a collector, added skinner sights and a made to order hand made leather sling embossed with maple leafs, I realize 1967 would probably be one of Winchesters worst years but I like the rifle.

I'm still in the .30-30 club...

Yes, I have easily owned over a couple dozen over the years.... including the elusive Rem 788 bolt rifle in .30-30 Win....

Currently have about 5, all Win '94's of one description or another [including a pre 64 carbine and RB rifle]........................

The only kind of .30-30 lever I see myself getting next would be a Marlin 336 type that I can scope.

Since posting the above way back in 2008 I did manage to acquire a nice Marlin 336 too which is now scoped with a compact 1.5-4.5x32mm Bushnell scope. Haven't had time to run any rounds thru yet, though.... :)

Don't do it..................
You will end up getting rid of the 94's if you shoot this gal.
I know I did.

I just joined... Bought a Canadian Centennial Model Winchester 1894 in 30-30... Will have it Thursday...

Pics to follow...

Cheers
Jay

Bah. 30-30 is a fad and won't catch on. I have a 7-30 Waters. That one will be around forever.
Really though I do like the 94 in 7-30 and have the family(wifes side) 30-30 which is a french military stamped WW1 94. Thought it was a congo but nope. Just as odd and lots of history. Super smooth action and a hair trigger. Sights are in meters not yards.
