The 30-30 club, are you in?

Lol...... cracks me up.....

On the one hand, I have my friend Freddy..... on the other, my good friend Hoyt that has sold me much craved unobtanium at fair prices.....

I see a rifle Hoyt posts in a cartridge I despise, in a configuration and cartridge I despise more.....

It just reinforces that beauty and function is truly at the eye of the beholder.....

It's all good, not everyone on here has to get along. It's actually an interesting rifle, I had no idea Winchester made such models. I had to take a second look to make sure it wasnt a Marlin.

As much as you dislike the /30 case, I love it... and have used it in .22 Cal, 6mm, 7mm, .30 Cal, .35 Cal and .375 Cal. The Waters is my favourite of the bunch with 120's and was my late season prop head freezer filler for many years. The brushed chrome rifles are not a "purist" thing, they are a functional thing, and they tick off a number of boxes in AE configuration that the originals (which I also love) can't.

As always... "beauty is (indeed) in the eye of the beholder."

Yep....have learned a lot here over the years..... and you can count yourself as one of the guys I learned the most from....

I still associate the 30-30 and the 94 with old fudds at camp wounding deer ..... never really liked lever actions and so it goes.... if I did, like I like bolts, I would be craving one in an all weather that didn’t look like a tactical abomination.... lol....

I covet that rifle! ;)

:) It's a little beauty I picked up locally after I gave my Ruger No. 1, in 22-250, to my young son in the B.C. central interior. With the old J.UNERTL scope it shows an amazing preference for a diet of 50gr V-MAX reloads. After posting photos of it in past, I received a PM inquiry from a gentleman back east, asking about the inscription on the barrel. Varifying what he suspected was on it, he claimed to have once been the owner and ask for first 'kick at the cat' should I ever decide to part with it. I'm slowly getting to that age, ;) but it'll be a while yet.

Had a 30-30 Marlin 336 for a month before selling it on. Nothing to do with the caliber but rifle was a piece of crap! Had an older Marlin that was pretty good but the quality just wasn't there in this new one built by Remington.

Had a 94 in 30-30 years ago a saddle carbine circa 1945. Got stollen!! Now I have a 94 rifle In 38-55, was my dads 1905 model. I still shoot it got my first mule deer with it in northern Alberta. PU a 94 in .32 ws carbine a few days ago, guy was giving it away for 200. Probably a 197xx model. Plan to take it to the range next week to try it out. With the new Levereveloution should be good!! Love the levers!!

Hi.
Not sure where to post this question.
My father has a Marlin 30/30 with a scope. Only have 4 bullets put through it and it is in excellent shape. No marks, scratches or dents. It is a lever action side eject. It was purchased brand new and is just over a year old. The scope is a Bushnell Sportview, which he paid $250 for brand new. He doesn't hunt anymore and is thinking about selling it.

Just wondering if someone could tell me what kind of price he might be able to get for the rifle and scope if he decides to sell it

Not trying to do an end run around the EE. Just trying to find out what it might be worth. I cant post a question in the EE because my Dad doesn't know if he wants to sell it or not.
If he does want to sell it then I will post it in the EE.
We are just trying to find out the value of this rifle and scope.

And sorry it was $250 for the scope. I hit the wrong button.
And that scope right now is valued at $149.99 at Canadian Tire not $45.

Don't post in a "Sticky" dedicated to .30/30 pics and chat... go to the discussion forum... but first try Google. That Sportview scope sold for $60 new... it is one of the cheapest of the Bushnell line... and it adds NO VALUE to the rifle.

You will not post it in the EE unless it is in our gun safe
