The 30-30 club, are you in?

Yes. 40 plus years i have owned a model 94 Winchester. My father gave this to me for Christmas. Shot many Whitetails with it. Love it

I put 14 through it, just to check it out.
I bought it because it was in such great condition, and I kinda wanted one.
I think I'll just tuck it away for the son.

My Marlin 336 chambered in 30-30.....Love this thing!

After selling my Glenfield 30A and 1981 issue Win 94 and immediately regretting it, I bought a grey laminate Big loop 336 today. WM tells me it’s an august 2018 build. Very pleased with the fit and finish, cycles smoother than expected for a brand new lever gun, runs my home made snap caps through flawlessly. I’m out the door for a deer, moose, or elk with my GBL in a few minutes. Tempted to take the 3030 but will do the responsible thing and take her to the range tomorrow to find zero with the 150 grain bullets. Happy to have a little brother to the 4570 again.

Dropped a doe with a gifted Marlin 336. The glass on this gun was just what I had, I'll be replacing it with something more appropriate to a lever gun before next fall.

Load was Hornady LeverEvolution 160gr FTX. Doe dropped on the spot, quartering towards me. Shot entered in front of the left shoulder and came to a rest behind the right shoulder up against the skin.

I bought my first .30 WCF in 1987 when I knew very little about firearms. I walked in to Harvs Outdoors in Kelowna BC as an 18 year old with a fresh FAC. They had a few shiny new Model 94AEs on the rack, and one well used 1894. I had no idea about the post ‘64 Winchesters being less desirable, but something about the history of the old one spoke to me. It still sits in my safe and I’ll never sell it. 1911 manufacturing date, with a lot of character marks.

Also when all the OIC lunacy hit, I traded a few guns around, and got the “2020-.30-30”. It’s a Marlin 336BL with Skinner ghost ring and quick detach Nikon 1-4x scope. I disassembled and polished all the internals and lightened the trigger to around 3.5 lbs. It’s a great shooting carbine, and is my primary deer rifle now.

Sad to say my favourite 30-30 was partially destroyed last year in my fathers car accident. Single shot H&R 157 with mannlicher stock. Hopeing I can have the stock repaired. Barrels still straight. Amazing thing is the vortex scope while very damaged, held zero.

And my late uncle “lucky joe”s old 51’ marlin 336 30-30. Has taken more deer and moose than I’ve ever seen.

So both mine are hand-me-downs.

Looking for a scoped 30-30 to start my kids on.

I have a Winchester 94 (in .30WCF) with the flat front band. 1943 if I'm not mistaken.
My uncles got together and bought it for Grandpa.
I'll add a pic in a bit.

New Member - well after 40 years of raising a family and retiring its time to get back to the hunting I did as a kid with my Dad and brothers in Alberta. Oh those Mulie and Moose North of Edmonton!
Live in Nova Scotia now and will start the process of acquiring my first love from long ago.
Marlin 336 and a New Howa or CZ 7.62x39 or 6.5 Grendel. I fired these little gems this fall. My son's buddy has a Howa and CZ. Great little rifles.
I'll actually buy a new Marlin 336 to get going and look for JM over time.
All I ever used was a 336 for Moose and Deer back then. Its all us kids could afford. Did the job.
We have lots of land in our family here that my kid and his friends will start to turn into deer hunting areas.
Its nice to be back.
Peace to all.
