I have a 340 and a 94. I'm glad I bought a real rifle now though. It's now easier to actually hit stuff now!

If you can't hit it with a 30-30 at reasonable range, and the rifle is in good shape, it's you. Absolutely nothing wrong with the cartridge.
Otherwise, we would not be on page ten of owners here.

In defense I guess I meant I can now shoot farther. Not that many 30-30 range shots here on the prairies.

it still amazes me that the first smokeless,high velocity cartridge "30 WCF" or 30-30 if you like is still so strong

my first guide gun was a trapper in 30-30.
a piece of junk i traded for a 12 Ga SxS.
now i have a M 94 made in 1910, a much better made -and tighter-
gun then the junk they sold 20 years ago.

YAY! I joined! Got a deposit on a never fired (at least no primer marks on bolt & chamber is like new) 1962 Winchester 94 in 30-30! Nice grain and beautiful finish on wood and blueing is still as a brand spankin' new gun should be. Thank you former owner!

First gun I ever shot way back when (although the year would be different) when I was a kid.

Deffinatly the first rifle i owned is a 71? winchester 94 the finnish was bad so i stripped it off and the stock is now a honeyed blonde this rifle also took my first deer during in november 07
