The 30-30 club, are you in?

Marlin lost me when they made improvements like a cross-bolt safety and their involvement with Remington. But the originals, oh yeah!

Impromptu poem;

"Lever Fever"

I have Lever Fever.
It sucks. Why?
Because the only way to appease the fever,
Is to acquire said lever.
I can save coin from my labor,
It seems however, like it is taking forever.

Goddammit, Henry Winchester or Marlin,
Why can't you make a contest, so I can win somethin'?
I already bought some good ammo,
Maybe I should have saved instead, but I took that gamble,
But I know next time I won't mess things up,
I'll make sure I toss all my earnings in the "future lever" cup.

I have Lever Fever.

I hear ya. A safety on a lever is ludicrous. No need for it at all. My Marlin is an old one with no safety. I would love another .444 someday, but it would have to be an old one without the cross bolt.

Just joined the club yesterday! Marlin 336W with the stock 3-9x32 scope. For a stock optic on a very reasonably priced gun I am actually pretty impressed. Probably gonna upgrade to a nicer fixed power somewhere down the road but for now it will do. Hopefully getting out tonight or tomorrow to put some rounds through it.

Shot it yesterday at it was great, cycled smooth, loading gate is loosening up, and its accurate. 2 holes touching and other damn close to touching more than once. this was only at 40yds (indoor range, not going toshoot longer outside when its -30) but i cant wait to see how it will do at 100 and 200 once spring hits

Yessir! I used to own a Winchester Model 64 .30-30 lever action that I never did grow to love. But now I have a Stevens 325A bolt action .30-30 that is the perfect black bear gun. She ain't no beauty, but she gets the job done! ;)

Marlin model 30 AS.. from Canadian Tire. One of my first firearms. I always liked the Marlin better than the Winchester design ( I know I am a heretic! :) Pretty good gun, though nothing fancy. I lent it to a guy to test before he bought it. His wife and him decided to have a big blowout, and she called the heat. All his guns were rounded up (of course.. ) including mine. He got all his back but they would not release mine to anyone except me. This guy lived hours away so I just got my money via mail and the gun went to the crusher.. in mint freaking condition.

As much as I love my country.. I really really dislike the shyte province I was born in! I can't help but thinking it would have gone down differently with some more understanding members of our justice system... perhaps out west. Especially now the damned registry is history.

The trusty 30-30 , I have a Marlin 336 and two Winchesters in this cal. , an excellent brush rifle and nearly impossiable to break , they were once a very common rifle around here and dirt cheap used......but where have they all gone ?

i sold a 64 sometimes back, i had trouble finding another 30-30 in my region.
everyone said to me: "we dont carry those anymore, last time i had one was 10years ago".
30-30 ammo is rare too, all they carry now is steel 12gauge shot and 30-06.

i had to buy one online from alberta i think.

real beauty of engenering, lever action is the classic gun every amateur should have.
