I'm glad but dissapointed I did not see this fantastic gun in the EE before it was sold.

Thanks to Bob "tikka" I have one coming...NIB 7600 35 Whelen Factory Carbine (Shot Show Special)

CANNNNNOT WAIT TO GET ER!!! I sold my 7600 .270win a few years back and kicked my ars ever sense!:kickInTheNuts: But I must say its the "hard to find" whelen carbine that i always desired!!

Hello Bears:dancingbanana:

Thanks Again Bob!!! Top Shelf Lad too!!!!

Like I Already Stated...Thanks Again Bob!!!:D

Congrats wonsky - you'll like your factory 7600 carbine I think. It's a rare uncataloged bird that is chambered in a no nonsense 35. I have one too and like it. I got it at the same time and place as Tikka and a few others I gather.

But I actually prefer its straight stock - same as the tikka/wonksy rifle no doubt. Here's a pic -

I find the the new high comb design as on my M750 carbine - while good with a scope as supercub says - IMPOSSIBLE to shoot with the irons with out inducing pain and potential flinch. Maybe just me.

:agree: The High Comb might be better for scope shooting but i find it takes away from the "CLASSIC" look of the the gun...I Prefer The Straight comb as well!!

Nice pic of a nice gun. I am just now watching "Officially Rugged..."

I think that "R.D." would consider it "RUGGED"

I have a 7600 in .35 whelen that my wife got me for Christmas (that fact is priceless in itself). I have only killed a couple of deer with it but one was is now in the B&C record book.

I tried this over in gunsmithing and nobody bit....

I have a Remington Model 6 Pump (same family as 760/7600) and want to remove the fore-end.

From what I can ascertain, simply removing the fore-end screw and pulling up on the fore-end should facilitate removal but it is not budging.

Any ideas?

Tap it gently from the rear with a nylon hammer or something similar, not a steel hammer. Key word here is gently...;)

I had one that was sticky and I just closed the action firmly a couple times(with the forend screw out) and it loosened it.

Great guns!
