After some encouragement from CGN members, here's a picture of a bear I got last Thursday evening.
Dark cordovan brown, thickly furred up, not rubbed at all. He is a real melon-head with huge neck. Measures a bit more than six and a half inches across the front paws.
One shot, 270 gr Speer ahead of 58 gr IMR 4064, hit just behind the shoulder, he went about twenty yards and piled up.
Bullet exited, lungs all jellied up, and far shoulder broken. So much for the Speer bullet being too soft for big game.
