tryed something that closer to the AK than the type 81 still have to mod a couple thing , i found how to make a better adapter for the handguard i gonna update the type81 look alike soon ,

here the Ak look alike is use an AK handgaurd , using AK handgaurd will not need any fitting not like the vz handgaurd on the type 81 look alike ,
gonna remove the dust cover take down pins and replace it by something else that will hold the new dust cover because in this build the wall of the receiver area are thinner to hide the takedown lever i have to replace it

the handguard adapter will simple need to punch out the pin that hold the front ferrule and replace it with a longer one , my adapter just go over the existing one

Ok, well semantic descriptions aside...I don't think its nice, cool or any improvement on the standard SKS, and I don't have to.
Just one man's unpopular opinion, which never bodes well on CGN anyways.

I would buy an sks if this kit was available.

worked a couple hour today on that to solve a couple things , now no need to keep the sks dust cover , is now replace but my dust cover , thje dust cover is now in 3 piece for the moment the main base that hold the spring , the dust cover over the bolt should be a metal sheet, and have a reinforcement to add some strength to the assemblies , the 2 last part being welded to the dust cover main piece , that just impossible to make the dust cover in one piece because of the radius of the bolt and the parts that goes in the groove in the side of the bolt carrier , and im still not sure to how to made is easy , Will have to remove the original dust cover pin ,

Second thing i solve today is we cannot take a VZ58 handguard it too long and got some interference with the magazine , to much modding is required the solution is to use an AK handguard , they are shorter and don't interfere with the magazine , may require still some fitting but a lot less ,

THe dust cover will have some pre-drilled holes that will need to be finish to drill for the one who you like to put a rail for an optic on the dust cover spacing of the holes is .750 , + it will have 2 allen set crew in the side to remove any loose and keep the zero ,

If I can make a suggestion,

I would try making the back portion a little more like the archangel SKS stock (right above the pistol grip), which has the real profile of an AK :

I would even be in favor of leaving the top open like the archangel stock.

other than that, great work.

re-worked the rear of the stock to be closer to the Ak line , moved the pistol grip of 1/4 inch to the rear ,

I would buy that in a second. Any plans on making one on a which a folding stock can be installed? That would be the cherry on top IMO.

how i designed the stock it use an AK trunion so all AK stock will fit

I start on a AK stock awhile ago, going to cast the center out of aluminum. With an updated trigger group. When your done and I'm done we can compare.
I have always wanted to build /have an AK.....so this is going to be the closest I'll ever have, unless I want to send $3000.00-5000.00 on one.
