Well my 542 arrived today after a 2 week wait on upgraded packaging,,, and I was shorted 3 mags..... I sent them a msg asking them to be sent out asap see what they have to say
Would you buy the one from ERE?
I wonder if it's good because I would take it.
This is the bull#### reply I got over my missing mags.. Why is it they always have issue's.. had lots of stock when I ordered then my order got stopped with the "packaging issue's* they kept selling mags then screwed me with this BS... not even a warning or notice my order was shorted until I had to question them..
Kind of a piss off paying for something then getting shafted yet you see idiots selling bulk 542 mags on GP FOR DOUBLE..
Tactical imports reply..
The 542 magazines have unfortunately sold out far quicker than anticipated and faster than the website was able to update it appears.
We look to have the next batch in 9 months give or take. Unfortunately, everything takes forever coming from Chile… and a government owned business.
Please advise if you would like to remain on the prepaid list and get them when they land or if you would prefer a refund.

Depends which rifle you are talking about. The SG 542 will be fins so far as the "No Rivets 5-Round Mag Regulation" is concerned, as those steel mags are permanently limited to 5 rounds internally by the manufacturer. They will be good to go under the new Regulation. The SG 540 is a big question mark, as the mags are pinned if I am not mistaken. If so, they will be in the same boat as PMags, Hera Mags, Lancers, etc. How do you "Permanently" modify a synthetic magazine?!?! Install a Floorplate Block and Epoxy the Floorplate onto the Mag Body? I dunno what will satisfy our lizard overlords, and neither do you - at least for now.
Alll of the fuss about magazines will be moot once the CFAC is re-established with Poly at the helm and the "list" is put forward for the prohibition of all remaining, current designs of "Scary black rifles" via OIC. Once they ban all remaining semi-auto, centerfire rifles with "military features" and a detachable magazine that holds more than 6 rounds, we are effectively done for semi-autos other than .22LR and a few wood-stocked Hunting rifles. At least until such time as there is a change of government and we hold the new Prime Minister to his pre-election firearms promises.
Does anybody know if the handguards are short or has the front cap design change? If the barrel is pined further up then the handguard doesn't fit anymore. looks like this handguard issue goes back a long time, Arm & Gun has a video from 2019 and they have this issue. Does the bipod still fit for these if the front cap is shifted up further then the bipod no longer fits the cutouts in the stock. Has anybody bought a bipod in this batch does it work or is it too short by a 1/4"?
As is my understanding, when you buy one from TI, you are buying from ERE.
I could be mistaken.
There is a Famae made end cap that goes on the handguards that will hold it a bit better.
These rifles shipped without them, or maybe Famae gave up on them altogether.
We were told the supplier shipped the wrong spec handguard, the rubber part was a temporary fix until they fixed the handguards. We were told the handguards would be replaced altogether with proper length ones![]()

You know better than the factory I guess
Just remember, ya'll could be trying to sort this out with N.S instead, had they been the importers....
