I see the Canadaammo NS522 is being offloaded at $199. I am new to the .22 bolt action. I have been doing some research and found that the stock was indeed designed for another weapon. My question is; Is it better to fix up the stock that it comes with, ie, pillar beds, barrel bedding, trigger tuning (has to be done anyways), fixing the overall mess causing by the machining for a different rifle.
I have heard various suggestions about using blanks from places like Boyd's (although I did not find them helpful at all). I don't know what comes in a blank or what is involved in bringing it to completion. Perhaps my best bet is just to start with the provided stock, strip it and tune it from there. I would appreciate as many suggestions as I can get. I have seen a thread or two about bedding and pillaring but I am quite interested in the new stock option. Any compatible stocks would be very interesting.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions
