The answer to the GSG-5 is......the HK416

The rifle is restricted. Not sure what is misleading. We never said until now.......a classification. Will find out about options for the pistol as well that people were asking.

We apologize if anything was not clear. We are dealing with the govt like everyone else.

1 - It came across as if these were comin in NR.

2 - Your post about being made by HK with the same quality as a 2500 dollar rifle was quite false!

Looks like the pistol just has a stubby buffer tube. Just put on a normal one and block in on the inside. Use any stock you want.

So WHY is it Restricted?? It does not accept AR uppers.

It's restricted for the same reason as the S&W, Chiappa, and Colt .22 rifles.

It looks and functions too much like a real AR-15.

Good Morning,

the legal classification of both H&K 416D rifle and pistol is restricted.

The pistol FRT# 132981-2 is restricted by legal Authority "CC 84(1) "restricted firearm" para. (a)" which defines a restricted firearm as " a handgun that is not a prohibited firearm"

The Rifle FRT" 132980-2 is restricted by legal Authority "RFR, Part 2, para. 2(w)" which prescribes specific firearms restricted " the firearm of the design commonly known as the M-16 rifle, and any variant or modified version of it, including (w) any 22 caliber rimfire variant...".

I hope this is of some help, do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.

LOL
Can't believe people still think these are non restricted and manufactured by HK Laugh2
"
The .22 caliber HK 416 is loaded with authentic features. From its appearance, feel, and operation, right down to the sling swivel incorporated into the stock, the 416 D145RS is a replica in every sense. Like all the .22LR H&Ks offered by Umarex, the 416 is a dedicated .22 rimfire rifle. It is engineered and built in Germany by Carl Walther with a match grade precision barrel, upper and lower metal receivers, a retractable stock, and a machined rail interface system. The 416's pistol grip and butt stock are authentic in that they include storage compartments for small tools or batteries. The magazines for the .22 caliber 416 are made of high strength polymer and are designed to make loading simple and efficient."

Under license by HK - symantics to think anything else. And me thinks HK would have a legal issue if they illegally put HK on the firearm.

As much as I wish this wasn't the case, I'm sure mlehtovaara and canucklehead are correct. I'd be shocked if we were lucky enough to have this be non-restricted!

Luck has nothing to do with it. It is time the Government that WE bought and paid for does it's duty for us. We should not be waiting around from THEM to decide, our ORG's should be informing THEM.

Looks like it will be around $675. Keep in mind.....this is a genuine HK product. It still is made with the same quality as the 416 223/MR223 which are $3500.

Not to be a ####.... But if it was deigned by Walther .... And built by Walther .... Then licenced by walther....Then its a Walther. I don't care what they write on the side. You can't even get one of these from HK

Besides, it sys unite clearly that it is a replica of the HK. Does that mean the Ferrari kit my neighbor has on a fiero makes the car as good s th real deal?
