Good plan, then you would be a criminal as soon as you put the short barrel upper back on that lower.
Smart, admit on an open forum that you would break the law first chance you got after a change in the law that worked in our favor just to save yourself the cost of a $250 barrel.

No they cannot, it's unacceptable because you will cease to own every firearm you bought with your PAL. The PAL also need's to go because it's just yet another shopping list.
We should all be well aware that they have pissed away all trust to be had.
There needs to be some type of license to help screen people so criminals and people with psychological issues don't get to just walk in and buy an AR-15.
We need to stop worrying about the government knowing we have firearms in case they decide to take them away and just hope that some day they accept that 99.9% of us are responsible and can be trusted not to run out and shoot up a mall or a school. They will never be able to take firearms away from criminals so them taking them from responsible firearms owners won't affect crime rates at all.

I'll buy a DA 556 in a heartbeat if this happens. I personally like the 20" barrel AR's more than anything especially Vietnam style.

Actually, requiring an RPAL and registration for "restricteds" but removing usage restrictions would be very appealing. Mind you, so would converting all prohibs to the 'new' restricted - hunting with an FN anyone?
That would still allow the travesty known as the firearms act to continue to exist. No. We must work towards complete deregulation, or the same dirty tricks will be used to disarm us in the future.
I see no problem with us "compromising" the way the antis "compromised" with us... Present a positive move as a reasonable compromise, make some incremental progress towards our goal, immediately start chipping away at what's left of C68 in exactly the same way the Liberals and PCs chipped away at our freedoms...
It speaks volumes for the character and good faith of the gun lobby (as opposed to the antis) that we seem to see compromises as long-term accords to be honoured as opposed to incremental and temporary steps towards complete victory.
More for the political statement than anything else I'd print myself a lower, and perhaps keep doing that as a birthday present for all of my friends. And perhaps it would be a good time to print off 80% lowers for freedom loving, non PAL holders to make even more of a statement and flood the country with an endless supply of them.

The day this happens, I will buy an AR without a second thought. Personally, I would like to see justices for the SA/CZ and HR incidents (never mind all of the other BS that has come about since 1993) before moving in another direction. Heck, let them tackle it all at once in a major shift that results in legal firearms ownership being decriminalized and people realizing that a firearm is a firearm is a firearm. We're licensed. We're safe. What's the problem?
Let's be honest here. Registration or not the RCMP will be at every pal holders address to seize firearms if that time comes. If the RCMP came to my door to take my firearms. I would give them my firearms. Why? Because my family is what's important to me. I'm not gonna go hide a few firearms. Get caught later then go to jail and leave my family to fend for themselves. Not happening. And I hope you would all do the same. Guns ARE NOT more important then your loved ones.

I used to be like you, then I bought and AR15 and life became better. Several handguns followed and another AR15. Many of us would kill for a 45 minute drive to a range. The more RPALs floating around in the system is a good thing. It gives us an additional data point in policy. "changing this policy will affect 30,000 RPAL holder vs 100,000 RPAL holders"
