The Battle Rifle Pictures Thread

Here's my bone stock 2013 Norinco M305B that I bought in 2013 at Backcountry Sports in Fort St.John.

I've read every post in this 131 page thread and am quite pleased to say that I think I got a good one... straight outta the box and I was making pop bottles dance at 50 yards.

Nevertheless, my Tavor - also purchased at Backcountry - took hold of my attention and the M305B sat in the safe for the last three years.

I'm interested in putting a little love into this now and have some questions for you guys;

Mainly, what do you think of the "Jpoint MRD" and the "M14/M1A CASM MRD SIGHT POCKET SOLUTION"...?

Of all the M14.ca accessories that I've seen on this thread, I haven't seen this MRD or the Jpoint that sits inside it.

I'm looking forward to some advice from some experienced people on this platform...

Nothing but good things to say about the M14.ca products... they're world class. Just an opinion, but I've never understood a unmagnified red dot scope of any type on a .308 that's somewhat accurate out to 500m. Its a platform that deserves glass. However if you lose that rear sight with the M14.ca mounts you also lose a lot of the fun and challenge of the rifle in its iron sights. Again, just an opinion.

Thank you, incorrigible... that's exactly the straight forward opinion that I was hoping for.

I'd L-O-V-E to hear from more of you guys...

Thanks.

1953 Korean War era Garand...bought it from the DCM for $165 USD. All IHC. And what are the odds of getting a 7/1953 gun matching my month and year of birth and an IHC and me being a farmer?

Pretty much agree with you on this point. However, by that same logic the iron sights are pretty much useless !

This one will end up with a scout hand guard with an non-magnified RDS, the reticle will
have a 1 or 2 MOA center dot. The original iron sights, and full sight radius will be retained.

Cool Thanks, i had not recognized it, must be the colour that fooled me!
You have definately gave me the itch to make a purchase at M14.ca in the near future.
I prefer that buttstock (magpul?) to an AR15 one, especially for an M14. Was anything else required to run that buttstock?

You will need the new MBSA M14.ca recently released.
