The Beretta CX4 Thread

I use a 37" case by Allen, it fits perfectly in length and height (I have a scope on mine): http://www.alflahertys.com/collections/storage-transportation/products/allen-tactical-gun-case-37-1064

I tried with Al Flaherty's in Toronto, and they said they hadn't been able to any them in months. Frustrating, as they seem to be common as hell south of the border. If you find a dealer that has them in stock, post on this thread and that dealer will have more business than he can handle, I think! :)

Grawfr, thanks for posting the Allen soft case - it looks good. I might have to pick one up

In case anyone is still looking, Al Flaherty's has spacers in stock:

I took mine out to the range and ran around 300 rounds through it. The trigger isn't great, but its not as bad as I thought it would be. I might do a DIY trigger job on it. Most of the shooting I did was from the standing position and I didn't keep track of groupings because I just wanted to have some fun shooting my new rifle. At 25 y its easy to put every shot on paper and the sights work well enough. At 50 yards the gun is still accurate but at that distance, I didn't really like the factory sights on it much and found them a little hard to use. Most importantly it ran through the 300 rounds flawlessly without a single problem.

Posted as a separate thread and thought I would ask here (didn't see or remember this thread) - any guidance would be appreciated.

I have a Beretta CX4 NR and am wondering if anybody has and any issues running regular copper plated bullets - specifically a Berry RN 9mm 124gr regular plated. From what I understand this bullet is advertised as being able to handle a muzzle velocity of 1200 FPS without and plate separation and I assume the CX4 would exceed this (although I do not have a Chrono so have not measured mine). So just wondering is anybody has had any experience with plate separation, key holing, or accuracy issues with a regular copper plated 9mm 124 gr bullet compared to FMJ or TMJ bullets.

A quick google search for the cx4 muzzle velocity says "9×19mm NATO 1400 FPS"

I'm not sure how much that extra 200 FPS makes a difference but you would think the Berry RN ratings would be conservative.

Interested in picking up a CX4 (NR) I'm in the bush up by Timmins, so I will be ordering through the mail. Any recommendations for a good price if I have to order one and pay to ship it up here?

$1000 to $1200 is average, shipping and taxes extra

Owned a few of these (both 9x19 and .40S&W). Great gun!
Only issue was that lots of dry-firing would bend/peen the pin that retains the firing pin (making it almost impossible to remove if bent too much.) Otherwise, awesome in NR format no other complaints (well, the rear plastic peep sucks, but can be slightly enlarged and is much better when done.)

Seem to be around $1200 - $1400 (+ ship) on the vendors I'm familiar with. I know the dollar is not doing too well these days and the price will likely go up. If anyone could point me in the direction of availability in the $1000 range it would be appreciated. Would like to get my hands on one before the Liberal takeover if you know what I mean!
Thanks

If you are a current Beretta shooter and own a PX4 or a 90-Series pistol, you can use the magazines you already have for the CX4. The CX4 will also take 8000-series magazines--using optional adapters.

This quote is from the beretta site. I saw a review online saying you needed an adaptor to run 92fs mags. What's the truth? What mags can be run with no adapters ?
