The best handgun on a 1000 dollar budget

what is the best 9mm handgun I can get for $1000 or less? I want a 9mm for the cheaper ammo so I can get alot of practice. I would mostly use it for target and home defense. What are your opinions? If you had $1000 to buy a gun right now, what would you get?##

I already own the last pistol I'll need to own...but if you'd like to say the same, buy a gen 4 Glock 19.

If you want to buy a bunch of pistols that you have to sell for something better, buy what everyone else has recommended first. :p

Yeah -

Top of my list for $1,000 or less would definitely be the CZ Shadow (actually, only my SIG TAC-OPS tops the CZ at any price!).

After the CZ, I would take the Glock.

1-BHP.
2-Glock 17
3-CZ 85 combat or shadow- I prefer without rail merely for looks.

The Jericho is a swing and a miss for me (as is the Beretta 92) due to silly placement of safety.

3 Norincos. 1 for the gun itself and the 2 others for spare parts.

On a serious note, a Glock17, add some tritium sight and a weapon light.

I'd say Glock 26 if we're talking home defense, since you'd be in the US for home defense you can get one of them down there...

If you're looking at a pistol for lots of practice in Canada for cheap rounds, I'd start with a .22LR in something like a CZ Cadet, S&W 617, Browning Buckmark, Ruger Mark I/II/II, Sig P226 Classic, can get 5x as many shots per dollar that way

Springfield XDM range kit.

Fit your budget and you get your holster and mag pouch.

On an other note go to a range that rent plenty of gun and try them pick the one that let you shoot straight!

if we were able to carry i'd go with polymer. Maybe a XDM or and M&P, but seeings how we aren't allowed, i like steel frames. they feel better and the weight helps for target shooting.
+1 for CZ Shadow
