These pics are of a huge Wasp's nest, I found some years ago, in the spring, while driving around looking for black bears.

I spotted it from the vehicle. Cut the small poplar off.

The wasps were all gone of course. They die off in the winter.

It is an amazing creation.

I've had it hanging in my garage, ever since I found it, and finally decided I needed to preserve it somehow.

I stained a pine board, cut a slab off a an old poplar block, drilled a hole for the branch to stand in...

I consider it one of my greatest finds, in the bush.

Sorry about the quality of these photos from this year's moose hunt. I had the camera set to macro and the auto-focus wouldn't lock on. Anyway, I had climbed up onto this plateau with the wind in my favour and encountered this cow moose. I froze as soon as I saw her knowing that I couldn't shoot for lack of a cow tag. For some reason, I had put the camera that was riding on the seat of my Jeep all week into my pocket that morning so moving only my arms (slowly) I fished it out and started taking pictures. After a few minutes, she got curious, turned and walked broadside in front of me, then turned and came straight toward me to check me out.

First time my old dog Chip and new dog Bug pointed sharptails together. I was so enthralled I didn't shoot when the birds flushed ( much to the old boy's annoyance).

Out looking for spring bear and came across this guy. Sat and watched him for about 20 minutes. He didn't seem too concerned with me, and slowly walked off after I took some pics.
Was the highlight of my day.

Bummer. I have always enjoyed re-visiting this thread periodically; probably my favourite on CGN. Now? Thanks a bunch, Photobucket. :(

Photobucket Fix

Borrowed from another site
have not tried it yet

Apparently Google Chrome and Foxfire have found a way to access the photos that Photobucket.com does not now allow you to post to 3rd party sites anymore without paying a high price.

"In the cases where former/current PhotoBucket users haven't deleted all their albums, Chrome and Firefox now have an extension, Photobucket Embed Fix, that will display 3rd party hosted images. It will fix all your broken pics, no need for you to do anything, it runs entirely in the background.

Click Tools>Add-Ons (Or press CTL+Shift+A) >select Extensions > enter "photobucket embed" in the Search box (upper right corner) > then click the install button."
