This thread has made me feel like a cartridge slut. Rifles are in and out of rotation on a regular basis. I've had a number of .30-06's, but no single rifle has stayed more than 10 years. Other calibers, like the .270, I've tried, discarded, retried, discarded again, and now I'm on my third. I have a semi-finished custom 7x57 that's been at the smiths so long I'm not sure he remembers its still mine. That one, if both of us live long enough to see it completed, will have had the longest staying power, and I'm planning on having it buried with me.
