The black bear king of the internet thread.

There were a lot of utterances under my breath as I tore open the dry bags bobbing along in the boat. I even called him back after he left once as I still had a squeaker in my waders pocket from Grizz hunting, but he left literally five seconds before the gun was ready and at Mach 1. Would have been the best black bear I've taken, for sure, reciting it again gives me knots in the stomach talk about aggravating.

No such screw ups on this genetic phase from two days ago however. A bottle of hair dye from winning this thread.

Nice boar, ears well out on the side of a big head........fully mature for sure. What do you figure he'll score? He looks like he'll go well into the 20s DAMN.........now I'll have to go and shoot another........

Hey OP, if I can't quite get the same quality, does quantity count? I have 2 bear tags, my wife has 2 bear tags...........

Besides, I don't think Angus' bears should count as he is doing this professionally. Puts the rest of us at a bit of a disadvantage.......maybe he should not be totally excluded but I think he should be handicapped (beyond the obvious ones that allow him to be a member of SOMA) by at least 4".................:p:p:eek::eek:

It has been said of me that I'm hyper-competitive, but I don't really think so.......I'm actually quite laid back...........as long as I'm winning.........

Hey Angus, the hair dye comment brings to mind a scheme my taxidermist buddy and I cooked up over a nice single malt one night. I was going to buy a smallish polar bear from my contacts in the high arctic and he was going to mount and dye it to become a Panda bear for my trophy room.........just to twist the antis tails and have something almost no one else would have.........The idea kinda died with the last splash of the single malt though............

All fair points! :redface: Well he's definitely Boone & Crockett, just how Boone & Crockett, have to wait a few days to see meaty skull's with with compulsory inspector. His head with some neck meat weighed what my wife does.

That perspective gives a better idea........he's a monster, nice work, even if you did have to let the client shoot it..............Sorry but absolutely no entering clients bears in this competition, but that don't mean you have to keep the pics to yourself.

He is obviously a client and not a close friend.........because we all know that friends don't let friends hunt with "The Great Imposter" :p:p:p

I swear you can tell what they're thinking by the look in their eyes at that range. This one was thinking "Who the #### are you and why are you in my river?" Makes Hoyt's pointy twig method of kill appear to have the possibility of being rather sporting, no added Internet juice required.
 
Hunting got hijacked today, I've found good sign around this spot but the bull trout were pretty hot considering how blown out the river is and how patheticly presented my streamers were so I was happy. unless old smokey showed up right there he was safe from me today.

the way to not hunt but had least you had good time. i want to see the next picture when the bear shows up and you trhow away the rod ....
