Hi folks. I'm hoping that this post will help me clarify the internal battle that has been raging in my head the last little while.. Yes, the voices are speaking again.....
Considering the purchase of a new rifle, something in 5.56. Now the dilemma is as follows. Do I get an unrestricted, or restricted weapon.
Possible choices are the AR180B-2, HK SL8, Robinson XCR.
Benefits of unrestricted: I can hunt with it, use it on my own property for varmints, etc.
Benefits of restricted: Cool factor... cool factor.....
I feel I am missing a lot here, so please, feel free to expand on the benefits or drawbacks of each.
Rifle would be used for hunting paper mostly, but I do have acreage, so would use it for varmints, and hunting on my property as well. I want something reasonably accurate, obviously, and something that is fairly robust, and has a good source of after market parts, stocks, magazines etc. Also, do not want to break the bank.
Your comments and suggestions are welcomed.
Cheers!
