The Bushmaster

Going by your pics, you fired 7 rounds and had 2 fail to chamber. Doesn't sound like a very reliable semi auto.
the two that failed to chamber did not fit in the chamber, the bolt would not close on them and actually locked up the bolt which is an ammunition size issue, not rifle. I posted the pics to show accuracy after being sighted in, not total rounds fired or rounds fired prior to sighting in.

ordered some Hornady ammo today to see how it compares in quality to the remington.

Remington has some 275gr TSX factory loads in their Hog Hammer line but I have yet to see any stock in canada and the problems with their regular line makes me wonder if it is worth trying.

Unfortunately it looks like the .452 275gr TSX bullet is not available to re loaders and the remington hog hammer line of ammo has been discontinued.

yes, Very slight difference in the length of the brass. The 450 round head spaces on the case and the head space was left very tight for accuracy
Please don't take my comments too serious like. This FUDD thing here is all in fun for me and the guys goaded me into it. :)

Have not updated this in a while, Second part of my conversion is now done

Remington 30 Ar barrel

Here it is completed, same bolt and mag for both 450 Bushmaster and Remington 30 AR calibers. With a quick change of just the barrel (no tools required) you are ready to load up and shoot the other caliber

from factory there is only 5.56/223 currently available. Ian at herron can do any of the conversions that fit with the magazine. 7.62x39, 300blk, 6.8spc, 450 bushmaster, 458 socom, 50 beowulf, etc.

Fer me, I'd gladly go for one in .458 SOCOM as I could use 500+ gr. boolits for big critters. Nothing wrong with a 45-70 equivalent semi-auto rifle in a manageable package.

Only downfall with 458 is mag capacity restrictions as it uses regular 223/556 magazines so they are pinned to 5 rounds of 556/2 rounds of 458.

The 50 beowulf is also plagued by an RCMP interpretation that limits it to 2 rounds and people have been charged in this matter and will be before the courts eventually.

What does 30 RAR do that x39 doesn't? I suppose different is still fun either way, do you roll your own 450?
It has slightly more case capacity that a 6.5 grendel or 30BR, ballistics closely match a 300 savage and it much closer to a 308 performance wise than the 7.62x39. It has some 80+ percent more case capacity than x39.

I also have both calibers with different rim sizes working of the same bolt and mag in a NR platform without the feed issues associated with the x39 in a stanag mag. I have an ACR in 7.62x39 as well, I can assure you they are entirely different animals when it comes to hunting and knock down power
