I made the bolt handle out of a 5/16" X 3" grade 5 bolt and used my drill press and 2 different size files to shape it.
Wow.
How long did that take?
it must have been a trick getting the bolt hex round!
I assumed you turned it on a lathe.

Thanks, I just started using the google picture hosting after my photobucket account went down the drain. I'm not familiar with the details of it yet. I'm stil hoping the photobucket people can recover all my pictures.Very cool!
I hope you don't mind but I edited your post to show the photos. I did that by copying the image address and using the add image button to do so if you want to do it in the future.
I just bought a cooey with a plastic trigger guard. I'd assumed that this meant it had been replaced. Your post makes me wonder if that's not the case. Is it possible that a plastic trigger guard on a cooey is original equipment?im loving the brass trigger guard too. Cooeys are a dime a dozen around here and a broken plastic trigger guard makes them ever cheaper. Brass is easier to work than steel, makes it an easier fix, and smart looking.

Just finished my boys cooey canuck, it was in rough shape when I bought it but with a little love it turned out alright.
I got for Christmas a Sureshot .22 CAL S-L-LR which I assume means short, long and long rifle, and a senior 22 Long Rifle which uses the same bolt as the Sureshot and the other Cooeys but I cant find information on it. I have two bolts but one is missing the knob on the handle so I hope I can find someone to make me one. I look forward to restoring this fun looking little guns they will be my first ever restoration job.
