The countdown begins!

UPDATE:

Our export license came back a couple of weeks ago rejected: We need to provide more info to show that the R22 was not a firearm designed / exported for military purposes (no ####!)

We have already resubmitted and hope that everything is now in order...

And NO, I do not have any deposits for these guns so to those who are just waiting to slam me again for something percieved, bugger off now! :!:

To those faithful who are and have been patient: Good thing will come to those who wait! The first shipment of a new product ALWAYS takes the longest.

JR

Well that sure sucks, but the timing might be to our benefit. From the sounds of the US discussion board, his product started out fine, and a few inmprovements on the second generation guns should be already in place before ours get built and shipped.

So, does this have to be a brand new import application, or can they re-open the one they have denied? Being office bound rangers, I suspect it's a brand new application.

Well you guys really flubbed this one JR !

Just kidding, thanks for the update - we understand this is a changeable process and you're doing your best. Hope there are still some gophers out when they finally let these guns in.

Thanks for the update guys,

We're still patiently awaiting the arrival of these fine lookin' bangsticks.

Let us know when they get in, and if there's any interm updates and such, please feel free to enlighten us!

Non-restricted.

What crappy part of the country do you live in that requires that you get an ATT for every trip to the range? Here in B.C. ours are good for up to 5 years.

Five years??? They keep giving me two even though I ask for more! :(

Well, I live in the part of the country were we like to take our guns to the gravel pit, without any government bull####(I think there are a few fellow Gunnutz that can relate to that  ). As you well know restricted guns are a pain in the ass, because of where you can and can't shoot them, the ATT's and the stupid questions that CFC asks.
I don't shoot my restricted stuff(pistols) very often, but last time, if I remember corectly, I got an ATT for only 24hrs, from point A to point B. I remember being asked if I wanted one for an extended period, but I also remember declining that offer(I just didn't want to talk to the ####ers any more  ).

A bit off subject, but here in QC, they give us an ATT for as long as your gun club membership become expired... which is 1 year in my case :(

I don't think this is the right way too look at the problem.
Just ask an ATT for one year, then you won't have to talk to "the ####ers" every week.

Now back to the R22.

8 months !!!

Will we have to wait that long again or will the process be quicker this time... since you only have to prove that .22lr is not a military armor-piercing round  ?

Your timeline omitts the fact that the manufacturer only started commercial production at the end of March. Relax, you won't have to wait 8 more months. We should see movment soon.

Even if this proves incorrect it's nice to be kept in the loop as much as possible. I think the complete silence by other dealers after certain fiascos is a much larger pain in the ass than having to wait a little longer than expected, but being notified when it happens.

Hey we've been waiting 2000 years for Christ and people still have faith. What can I say the Swiss Arms shorties came way faster then that :D so I have faith the R22's will get here too

I also would love updates, but concidering the grief the importers get, sometimes it just seems smarter to keep shut until they get her.

Well I'm not sure what you folks are expecting in the way of updates. Every time we hear a pertinent detail it is passed on. It isn't like the State Department gives us progress reports. The paperwork requested was submitted. We await their response. And we will continue to await their response, until they actually respond. If we are approved, we have our guns shipped. While they are in transit, the same problem arrises. They are in transit, and we don't have real time reports of their travels. When they arrive, they arrive.

LOL, It sounds like their will be a line outside the door the day before they come in. I'll be their with my tent

This hasn't been BTT'd in a while...I was wondering if there's any news of late?

NS

JR mentioned that his export permit for the first 25 has been approved. Rhineland has assembled a large number of guns and were to begin shipping this week. I don't know if ours are on that shipment.

Don't call!

Even though the export license is approved, it will probably be another three (count them; one, two, three) weeks till we see them here.

I'll post when I know more, or more accurately I'll call those on the happy list when I am close to delivery.
