Is the .17hmr a necked-down .22lr? So the .22lr mags would work for them... just the ammo is so friggin expensive.

I'd love a .17 as well, but can't beat .22lr pricing

I agree it would be the ultimate combo but I don't think the R22 is set up to take the .17HMR/.22MAG case length. As such, I'll be waiting for them to hit TSE in .17 Mach II...almost as cool!!! Agreed on the drum mag as well...a mini Beta-C!!!

I don't think so...the closest I've seen is a 50 round drum type mag...more like oval in shape...designed for Ruger 10/22's.

It might be a tad heavy to chase behind dogs with.

you set up a feeding spot near a small running water spot. Set up like 200 meters from there with a 3rd gen NV scope on that nice R22 and just have a go at the coons. You can then feel all special forces-ish for taking out living creatures 200 meters away in the dark of night. Aint that great or what?
