Very nice. Would love a commander like that in 38 super.

I recently sent some stuff off to Rodger and he was telling me about how he chromed the P7s. He does good work.

My wife is a Filipino. She’s looked 20 since she was 20. She’s 30 now and just as fun sized as when I met her
Now if she’ll only let me buy a Porscha

Wow! She's a beaut!

I've bought a few strikers but you're right, it's the metal that brings me the most joy. Nothing like a good, solid all-steel firearm in the hand.

I've got a pair of Remington 'Commanders' in .45 ACP; one stainless, the other a 'melted' blue model. Both came with good triggers out of the box. Best 1911s I own and I rarely shoot my 5" Gov't models any more. They are the size a 1911 should have been from the get-go.
Recently I re-audited the IPSC 'Black Badge'; course using the SS model. We each fired over 600 rds during the two days. One other dinosaur used the 'antedeluvian' 1911, his a 5" Gov't model with an optical site. We kicked ass amongst the 9mm 'poodle shooters' using the usual Glocks, CZs and S&Ws used in the game.

Not sure "when" mid-life crisis is supposed to be... but seems like finding time to shoot is more of an issue than buying more guns.

This been said, a pro-gun wife that likes to shoot is hard to beat.

Amen to that! I've got a shooting wife that buys her own guns. I just do the cleaning and reloading. No attitude when I go shooting. She's into IPSC and runs our CAS club where she shoots pair of 7-1/2" 44-40s. Yes, she's younger than I am.

I am not surprised. A good shooter can outperform someone who relies on gadgetry. I have a lot of respect for people who use the classics well instead of flavours of the month.

Your so right.

Back a number of years ago a friend of mine won the provincial pistol championships using a police issue Colt Police Positive with the normal fixed sites and police issued ammo..

He beat out guys that were using $2000 dollar guns and hand loaded ammunition.
