The Depression Is Now Setting In

The great thing is that it is an easy thing to swap out and sell on the EE so you can "be complete". wait it out sir. Buy the one that makes your angel and then flip the other one. I get it though. I really do.

At least winter is coming and the herd thins a bit. They seemed to have multiplied this summer. Build a shelter, they will come. A lot of pregnant staggerers lately too. Keeping the Ridge classy :p

Okay, I was pretty sure it was my "local" too and now I am positive. That's funny (and sad) sh1t there. ^^

Needing some group therapy from my CGN brothers.

I'm building my dream AR -15; my first build and carefully selectin and purchasing each part, buying each payday, making this take quite a long period of time to complete, but loving each and every component that I buy.

I have been carefully watching one of the parts online as I saved up to buy it, making sure that it is still available, lovingly looking at the picture and reading the product description like a dialed in addict with an AA bible.

Today was the day! I finally have the money, it shows in stock on line, the store shows in stock on its own system, I had the day off and devoted it to picking up my new, quality being vital piece of what is growing to be the most personal firearm I have ever had; building the carefully selected pieces into my perfect baby...

I drive to the store, land a parking spot on this always busy street right in front of the store! I am then convinced, the stars have aligned, the crecendo has piqued, the world finally makes sense to me and it is all about to pay off!

I walk into the store, beeline straight to the counter with a little swagger to my step and recite the lyrics of the song that is the part that I wish to trade my money for and bring it to its new home; to the place it was destined to be since it's inception!

The test is all a blur. Words and phrases eluding to "should be here... Shows in stock... let me take a look... let me ask around..."

I saw where this was going, but no part of me was accepting it. I looked where it was supposed to be, I checked online with my phone (even as I write this, it still shows online), I even check every other shelf in the store before it all finally leeches into my resistant grey matter...

To add confirmation to the horrid conclusion I was slowly coming to on my own, I hear the dreaded words...

"Sorry man, it looks like we are sold out" Drop the mic.

The rest was a haze of words, "We have this one... This brand is good... I would give this one a try" along with others that I heard, but did not want to accept.

This being my local small business that I will pay a little extra if it comes to it to offer my support, I ended up purchasing another brand, then driving home in silence, walking straight to my safe and putting the bastardized version of the angel I planned on bringing home into my safe, still in the bag, unable to look at it, let alone be excited about what is now the heart of my dream build :-(

On this day, I am a sad man.

Unfortunately this does happen time to time where product shows in stock in the back end and is in fact sold out, the reasons for this are numerous and frustrating.

That being said we want you to have what you are looking for or better. If you are unhappy with your purchase, bring it on back to the shop speak with Matt our Manager and he will square you away.

For me I bought a Mega Arms MATEN upper and lower with hand guard combo, I got the stock and grip, a barrel, a few accessories, then I bought an Armalite AR -10 should have gone with the A series, but the B series which I have they use only the metal GI magazines and I find it is beefier than the standard, and cannot go wrong with a reliable rifle tho.
I'm always depressed, so I understand, you need to find a good canter, if the rifle makes you unhappy look at it as a twist, and make it look more like it, I wanted an SR-25 but the cost I could fix my truck for the cost haha

See, by not naming the part, I was hoping to avoid the fair share of jerk-off comments like the two above or spend an hour explaining why I cannot get the part elsewhere. I also wanted to avoid the opinionated professors that will tell me so maturely why my choice "sucks" and what cool logo etched choice would be so much better.

Saying that I am "just looking for attention" is such an idiotic statement, so please think before you barf up words on a post, just to get the negative attention you are seeking. Why does anyone post on any board? To get attention! Some want your attention so they can pick your brain. Some to offer their advice. Some to be helpful, some to be jerks. Some to vent, others to offer them support. The l reasons why are virtually endless, but if you did not capture anyone's attention, posting would be redundant. Kind of like the point you were making with that negative attention seeking comment. Costs nothing to keep the negativity to yourself.

For the overly curious that just gotta know (guilty on multiple occasions myself) it is a BCG that I wanted. Comparative elsewhere was way outside of my even inflated budget, paying double for a logo and getting an inferior product regardless.

I feel for ya. I was looking at the Lantac Nib BCG.

That is frustrating. It took 6+ months to get all the parts I wanted for my AR-FrankenGun. And I settled on a brake...and I can't get over it, so now I'm waiting for the one I really want to be "in stock".

When all else fails, (eg/ Wanstalls can't order it in for you) then there's always Brownells. I had to resort to getting hosed by the exchange rate for a couple of bits.

Unfortunately they did look for the bcg but said they couldn't get it in. No slams on Wanstalls, that's not what this was about. Just bummed out at the outcome. You only have a few BCG's online and are only out of stock on the one, so it's no secret really, it's the AAC BCG you had on sale. If one did magically turn up, I would happily prance like a ##### to your store to trade in what I ended up getting! Staff was pro as always though.

It's even worse when what you want is right there at your fingertips, just to get pulled away at the last second. We are masochist, aren't we?

Phase5 and aero precision make really nice nickel bcg's...

I ended up with the Phase 5. Good, but what I was after was perfect (to me). I'm only building one AR (hear my wallet sigh in relief?) so I am spending more time researching online than a teenager with low self-esteem spends on "Snap Chat" (or whatever the kids are obsessing on these days) :p

Funny how no one saw this coming after gentrifying half if the ghetto and cutting half of the funding at the Caring Place. Now crap is just out in the one for all to see. I can do without all of the break-ins going on too. These lip burners smile for the cameras while they steal bikes and break into cars :p

ya, aren't they converting a old motel into a shelter? I know the guy from BC Housing that was working on that project, apparently due to being a crown corporation they do not need any permits from the city, but get them anyways.

There's word that there is a plan in the works for it to be in the Hammond area, but I guess we will see how the neighborhood responds. People only stay in the shelter during the cold and wet season. During spring and summer it's all free camping and cook-outs wherever they want. They have way better tents than I do and $2000 bikes all over. They even had an on premises drug dealer this year who was arrested with a HUGE stash of fentynil laced heroin and enough crack and meth to revive a dude that's been dead since 1936 :p

I built an AR a couple months ago and got pretty much everything top of the line but cheaped out on my lower...

Last week I got another lower, lol.

Sorry to hear about the disappointment. Sometimes the search is half the fun. Just go shoot the thing until you finally get the right part. I'm going through the same thing restoring my Mustang. Could go with a similar new part or search the world for the original part.

On the other hand, no need to shed tears for the "homeless" folks on the news these days. I spent a lot of time on set in the Hastings / Crodova area this summer. The city won't let developers move in as that will eliminate all the derelict buildings for people to squat in. There are people going around all day and night with free food, there are free soup kitchens, free needle exchange and places to shoot up. Everything they need is provided to them all for free. They get free electric wheelchairs if they need one and so on. Why on earth would they want to leave that ?? The city maintains parks that are filled 100% with crack heads out sun tanning during the day. No family would ever set foot there. ARRRRRRRRrrrrr.

Sorry OP. Bad derail. You will get what you want. Just not today. I think you would truly be disappointed if the hunt was over.

Update: How does Wanstalls reply? By offering to allow me to trade in the Phase 5 bcg for a Colt Canada bcg, straight across! Who does that, right??? Only a $150 difference in price!!!
