The Depression Is Now Setting In

Sorry to hear about the disappointment. Sometimes the search is half the fun. Just go shoot the thing until you finally get the right part. I'm going through the same thing restoring my Mustang. Could go with a similar new part or search the world for the original part.

On the other hand, no need to shed tears for the "homeless" folks on the news these days. I spent a lot of time on set in the Hastings / Crodova area this summer. The city won't let developers move in as that will eliminate all the derelict buildings for people to squat in. There are people going around all day and night with free food, there are free soup kitchens, free needle exchange and places to shoot up. Everything they need is provided to them all for free. They get free electric wheelchairs if they need one and so on. Why on earth would they want to leave that ?? The city maintains parks that are filled 100% with crack heads out sun tanning during the day. No family would ever set foot there. ARRRRRRRRrrrrr.

Sorry OP. Bad derail. You will get what you want. Just not today. I think you would truly be disappointed if the hunt was over.

I think the tears were being shed over the pregnant addicts that I mentioned. No good ever comes of that. No excuse for it either.

No tears shed. But it is unfortunate for the yet to be born children that they will possibly be born into "that mess".

Anyway, off the derail, I am happy to hear that all is well and your build will be awesome. Cheers!

I couldn't be more thrilled I walked into my local store this morning just to kill some time i wasn't really looking for anything in particular, I noticed that they had a particular AR parts just sitting there, I ask the clerk if i could see it, he said it has been sitting there for awhile now, it is the last one they had and probably won't see it Canada for awhile, so on an impulse I whipped out my bank card and bought it. yeah sure it will probably just end up sitting there in my parts bin for awhile, God knows I have enough project on the go right now and I need another restricted AR like I need a hole in my head... but hey it is just money right?

As I walked out the door into the rain the last thing I overheard from the counter was another customer asking about the same item I just bought, poor guy :(

Just yanking your chain, it happened to me a few times, sometime if you really want something you just have to buy it somewhere else.

I really hope that this all gets resolved for you soon and your new toys are better than expected 9nce you finally get to tear it up and shoot them until the barrels glow as the red as the temper you must have with each set-back!

I was bummed, but for the first time I am dealing with a store that is offering TOO MUCH to appease the customer! I love seeing a store gonabobe and beyond, but am big in swing the local shop thriving in my community, not having to sacrifice that much to keep me happy and my business. True class act, right in my own back yard, for sure.

I found my first AR build to be much like my first successful deer season. Patiently waiting for opportunities of exactly what I wanted. The frustration of finding the sale hours too late and finding them out of stock much like showing up to my favorite spot after work only to find a still warm gut pile.
After searching and searching with no hope of finding what I was looking for and the season coming to a close... boom there it is. In stock and on sale. Or that big buck walking out into the clear.

The hunt for parts and getting it just right and slowly pricing it together is the fun part looking back. Years later I realize that I never even fired that rifle even though I'm building another upper for it.

I'm doing the same thing with building my dream AR. Going top of the line for everything. Going for lightweight but offers best performance along with looks( in my eyes). Bank account is definitely black and blue after the decision.

its teasingly painful slowly putting it together month after month slowly seeing it start to resemble what your brain child is. Especially when it gets down to the last few pieces, like you my last piece is the BCG but I have to go the route of waiting and not using another brand as the one on my wish list isn't sold in Canada and I've already imported two pieces to it so the process hurts less.

Just thinking about what I've spent on it so far makes me cringe let alone what it will come out to in the end. But once I pull the trigger on it at the range I will grin every time.:d

EXACTLY!!! That was my "Boom!" Moment! If I get that on my charging handle, then I'm back on top of the world. I think the handguard is going to drive me insane though. The last piece. Hiding, laughing at me.

BC housing is spending millions a year housing them in newly renovated buildings. I could go further into detail as I work for a company that is contracted by BCH to maintain said buildings in downtown Eastside. The amount of $$ we spend on fixing vandalism is unreal.
What they do to a building in 2 years is painful to watch. Then when under construction no one cares about quality work cause they just gonna mess it up anyways. It's sad really. Last month 4k on graffiti removal from 2 sites.

Lol, I just saw this! A-Hole!!! Lol!

I hear your pain brother the same thing happened to me. Other than a gun I'm also a nice guy and I had my heart set on the perfect camp knife. The Becker BK9, I checked online call the store in London just to make sure they had it in stock and he says yeah buddy we have it. I had to bring my wife to town that day so I made a special trip to the shop. I was all excited when I got there and ready to make my purchase. And he says oh sorry man we don't have that in stock but we do have this. I ended up leaving the store with a Ka-bar Big brother instead and let me tell you that thing is a piece of junk. Of course I beat it up and played with it and then sold it luckily for what I paid for it so let me suggest you don't instal that part. see if you can bring it back and exchange it for what you really want. My brother who is a really wise man and also a forum member told me: Get what you want and never settle because you will still want what you wanted to start with.

Thank you for the advice. A few cool CGNers have graciously offered to sell me their bnib AAC BCG pretty cheap. When we aren't razzing each other, we sure are there for each other when it counts!

Have purchased from wanstalls in the past, after reading this thread will make an effort to do so again. Above and beyond guys!

Part of me just wishes I was a greedier man. Could've taken the CC BCG and traded it for the BCG AND charging handle I wanted! Damned morals :p

They are a great store though. Good online but something special face to face
