Haven't change anything on the rifle yet. Just added two red dots.

SHARE YOUR AMMO INFO.
I'm using the same ammo I use in my IPSC Classic guns which are 1911s chambered in 9mm. I use a 147gr RN Xmetal bullet over 2.8gr of Titegroup.

I've been shooting IPSC and 3gun since 2011. I've worked part time for a local gun smith off and on for about 10 months. Host of Slam Fire Radio since 2012

All my pics and videos are on Instagram

I've put 600 rounds through the rifle to date with only one failure to feed in the second 170rnds.

2.8gr of TG? That seems really light, does that cycle the action well? My 124gr loads are 4.1-4.2gr (whatever the volumetric spits out) under a 124gr. Haven't loaded 147's for a while but my 115gr load is about the same as my 124gr powder charge.

3 gr. of TG in mine with 124 and 147’s no issues at all

Hmmm, I'll have to pull out the Chronograph and start reducing the charge, powder will go a lot further, lol.

I just built another 1200 rounds at 4.1gr a couple weeks ago. Got another 1000 brass prepped and ready, just need some more empty peanut butter jars, lol.

Out of my 1911s I get 130PF. The xmetal coated bullets require less powder to get the same speeds as copper jacked bullets. The first 50 rounds I put through it were 121gr PF. Worked flawlessly.

Sorry, not familiar with how power factor works. I don't compete, just use chrony when I'm curious about what my loads are doing.

Power factor is the bullet weight multiplied by the speed in FPS divided by 1000. So my 147gr ammo loaded with 2.8gr of titegroup is going on average 880 feet per second.

Simple, lol.
Thanks, I always wondered how that number was calculated (just not enough to actually look it up, lol).

The only time I've used the chronograph on pistol loads was when I was playing around making subsonic 147's for my AR-15.

I got the rifle second hand and the previous owner installed a new end plate that accepts a sling on either side. I installed a similar plate but the QD version on my AR. It was a quick install. I remember I used an armorers wrench, YouTube, and 1 beer to get it done

Range report. I had installed the Rise Armament RA-140 SST (drop in), ran 200 rds of Winchester 115 fmj target, then 150 rds of range reloads, and finished off with 50 Rds of the Winchester. Glad to say everything works great for me, only one failure to eject due to the crap reloads. Loving it.

What are you guys doing for sling setups?

Magpul MS3 ( for its quick adjustability ) with a pic rail mounted qd port up front and the qd port that comes with the MFT minamilist stock . The sling can be configured for single point attachment which is great for shooting drills or traditional dual point which is way better for carrying any distance .
