The Freedom Ordnance FX-9 OWNERS thread.

That’s what I said, what is difficult to understand? Available aluminum aftermarket bolt on magwell or its pretty useless in the PCC world.

While I do know of a couple people 3d printing prototypes for this gun, the bevel in the existing magwell is fairly generous allowing for quick mag changes. But while a magwell for this gun would be a great addition, it's far from useless. If you think the only thing standing between you and the podium is a magwell, you weren't going to make make the podium with one.

not a strong enough spring, and an undersize buffer. from what I can gather. my own fault. the bolt came back far enough that the bolt roller hit the back of the lower receiver and in 3 rounds sheered it off

Can you post a picture?
Either it's too early in the morning or these have something my 9mm AR doesn't but I'm having a hard time visualizing what you broke.

A bolt on magwell? Sorry bud, I don't get it either. Why do you need a bolt on magwell? How is it going to transform this rifle from useless to useful?
You just want a bigger more flared hole to stick the magazine into?
Is this requirement just for super fast 3-gun guys or something?

Sorry, not trying to be a smart-ass, just don't understand why you need a bolt in magwell to make this gun useful. Maybe try a little description instead of acting like we're all dummies for not understanding why it's so important to you.

Is there really a PCC world? It sounds wonderful but a little snobby, only guns with large bolt on magwells allowed, lol. :p

He broke the little roller that the charging handle grabs onto on the top of the bolt

Interesting, I'll have to pull one apart next time I get my hands on one.
Sucks to be the one to find out the hard way. Lucky it didn't damage the aluminum receiver instead.

Is the only fix a new bolt?

LOL, well said.

I have a couple of hundred rounds through mine with the CMC 3.5 lb standard trigger and had no issues. What a difference over the factory one!

Are you using factory ammo Or reloads? Is it the PCC CMC or regular ar15 version? From what I'm hearing is only timinny is recommended by wolverine because of light primer strikes with other brands.

Just curious, why does everyone always want to upgrade the trigger on guns like this?
I'm not a big believer in the theory a gun needs to break in before it runs right but I do know that these gritty heavy milspec triggers do break in and by the time you've got 1000 rounds through it they're usually pretty smooth and predictable. Might still be heavy but that's a lot safer on a rifle you'll be running around with rather than sitting at a bench.

the roller on top is simple to replace actually, and wolverine had a spare instock. I don't have a pic of the broken bolt but this pic shows the damage it did when it struck the top of the lower receiver.

these and not the same inside as an AR 9mm

Well there we go ... thanks for enlightening us LeadMonkey ! Yes, safe to say that at the level you are competing at this new offering won’t cut it at the moment. Here’s hoping that the competition sports produce the need for a number of aftermarket upgrades if these get popular enough. That’s how technology is driven in just about every other competition based pastime.
