The Freedom Ordnance FX-9 OWNERS thread.

My FX-9 ran flawlessly for about 200 rounds (of varying types) expended among three different operators at the range yesterday, excepting one issue.

The last round bolt hold open appears to be working consistently for Glock Gen 5 magazines, but inconsistently for others (Gen 4 in particular.)

I was under the impression that there were no dimensional differences between the Gen 5 and Gen 4 mags, so I'm wondering what the issue might be?

Could be spring power of the mag I had an issue before on my oem mags but I got a long stick and poked my spring just 1 coil further past the pin put it back together works every time hasn’t failed me yet.

Also running into last round hold open issues at about 2000 rounds. Only my SGM magazine that has super stiff springs will consistently trigger it. All my OEM glock (19x ones) and magpul ones won't.

Any ideas?

Seems like a mix of stiction (despite having tried cleaning it religiously) or maybe the spring is too strong?

Have you by chance taken the bho plate off the lower to clean in their after 2000rds, at the 1200rd mark for myself I noticed that flat plate holding the bho down was fairly gritty took it off to clean and instantly jet black carbon it took almost 15-20 passes with swabs and picks to clean it out super dirty piled up in their it’d be worth a check their if you haven’t could be built up crud acting on the rod of the bho.

Do any dealers have the FX-9 in stock? I put a pre-order in back in February with a dealer and just got told 'hopefully' one will be available for me in the next 2-4 months.

Yeah I've cleaned that out multiple times now and its still buggered.
I’m inclined to say it’s likely not enough spring pressure if you got a friend at a range who’s got glock mags I’d give it a go with him if he’s got some variety and that pretty much tell you. But wolverine did have some issues like you which they associated to spring pressure in their promo vid on YouTube a while back.

To all the lefty's out there with these, what's the verdict? Does it require some sort of device to change the shell deflection and some gas? Or is it fine without?

No issues for me, originally I was getting some unburnt powder in my face but changed powder and used less with no further issues

Run it over some carbide sandpaper or subject it to a FINE sanding device and you'll
be good to go . Honestly I don’t know how this #### gets past QC.

Yeah I've tried about 7 different varieties of glock mags. My SGM one and I think the 21 rounder magpul ones reliably catch it. My OEM glock mags don't.

Anyone tried modifying an aftermarket AR15 charging handle to fit on the FX9? The only thing really missing on my gun is a nice Radian charging handle, I just wanna know if that's even doable.

Michael at Wolverine said they take standard AR-9 barrels... Says they're not proprietary.

Tried calling F/O in Indiana, but I don't have international long-distance on my phone.
