The GSG 16 modification thread

Have the gsg conversion kits become unobtainium? No word back from iRunGuns, and only see one from some American dealer. Not sure on the legality of importing mp5 parts over the border 😂.
 
Guess it comes down to how bad do want an MP5 look alike? The short barrel and GSG5 kit change the feel completely. I built mine over a year and spread out the costs. Don't drink much anymore but have to spend my allowance. :) So I have no regrets. :)

Illegal to cut down a barrel less than 18" or is it 18.5" ( Semi auto Centerfire ) GSG is 16.5" so their for shortest it can go.

If caught, you wouldn't be owning firearms ever again. You couldn't even be able to argue, that it was a GSG 5 Pistol barrel. Because the serial number would come back to a 16.5" gun.

Yes because Dlask makes the barrel from a barrel blank, meaning it has no set barrel length. So it can be manufactured any length as long the gun meets the OAL requirement for NR, and if it doesn't, then you could register it as a restricted. But cutting the OEM barrel any shorter because it already is less than 457mm makes it a prohib.

but it doesnt stop there. throw in another $200 for mp5 airsoft furniture so that brings you to $1000.

and thats if you can find airsoft mp5 furnitures, its scarce nowadays. canadians has scoured the world and emptied the shelves.
 
The barrels are back in stock at Dlask.
Just ordered the barrel, the furniture, and the sight hood. Will definitely give me something to do while waiting on a parts kit.

Gents, any leads on where I can buy the HK style rear sight right now? I can also trade your HK style rear sight for my extra cyma mp5 handguard. I'll just add extra $ together with the cyma mp5 handguard. Thanks. :)

So I'm guessing by that comment that you haven't perused the thread from start to finish...


This was started in parallel to his projects. I'm doing mods a different way than him so we don't overlap (read: compete) for stuff.

Also, this would alleviate the purchasing of a 'real/metal' one also. Probably a lot cheaper than a metal one (when you can find them that is). If this is 10-15$ and the rail delete 10(?), cheaper than any metal solution.

Because it is near impossible to find a metal real sight. The airsoft MP5 parts supplies, have been tapped.

HA...No ragrets

I had a MP5 K sight on my GSG. The notches I found a little hard to use.

Anybody know where I can get an adapter or something, so I can use a magpul CTR stock and tube.
