The GSG 16 modification thread

Thanks. I would definitely not pin the retractable stock, and would simply switch for a fullsize mp5 stock to have legal OAL. But to each his own! Nice build. Impressed by the upper top and sight part. well done.

Why did you paint the upper after?

Youza.

Thanks! And decided to paint it for 2 reasons: 1 because the sanded down areas were lighter in colour than the rest of the receiver, and also to hopefully match the colour of original HK MP5 receivers.

Added my fixed stock, IRG kit, HK push pins, ordered some 35mm rings for a re-purposed AR 3x20 scope has a super long eye relief, an old sling, old AR brake, just waiting for my HK rear sight.

Shoots just awesome like my son's GSG STG44. Funny shooting 2 German designs beside each other.

This is pretty much the exact setup i've started working on. Great job sir.
Which brand/source is the handguard? I have a CYMA handguard on order.

Cheers
Youza.

Thank you, I have always loved the MP5 style, goes with my Ruger now.

It is a CYMA handguard I got from Tiger 111, took just a bit of fitting inside the guard to get a snug fit, used a small amount of JB Weld to form it to the contour of the GSG, didn't have to but I like a snug fit on my toys. :)

Does yours have up and down play? Like there a inch or so gap between the handguard and the barrel trunion on mine. If I push up on the back it will lift.

No, I found it is tight now that I used JB Weld, kind of like bedding a stock. I did dremel a bit in the front of the guard as well to fit better to the GSG5 kit.

thanks for any info

Has anybody had qc problems with there gsg I can’t get any ammo to eject at all not even manually cylcling it just drops into the magwell

Can you post a pic of your extractor and ejector? Perhaps the ejector is bent, damaged, or missing? Are you missing the brass rivet that is holding the ejector on?

Here is mine. (500+ rounds so far. Zero failures)
