I want to be like the cool kids and have a 9" GSG. Maybe the end of the week.
Mine will just look like Jays. Minus I'll have a TRS25. Waiting for my HK MP5K rear sight and my Claw Mount.

The truth is, mine looks like OkayShooter's rifle, I just got mine back sooner. I copied his ideas.

Is it possible for someone to make a video on how to cut/sand the raised optic rail part off?
The top pic rail? It lifts off when you separate the two halves of the upper.

Have a look around 13 minutes - there is a screw on right side needs removal from earlier in video
I used this mount, had to remove the top rail, fashion a low filler plate, and file off some material off the claws to clear the receiver body.
Way more rigid then the 2 brass inserts for the rail when using optics.

Amazon. I got a claw mount in my parts bin and fits so so. So I got 2 other styles coming in the mail, hoping it fits better.
This style doesn't fit the best. It needs to be a few MM narrower. It will clamp on, but one side will be in more than the other.

The claw mount is just on the edge. So just put the mount back on for the picture, no point accidentally hitting and ripping the plastic. Why I hope the other mounts fit better, since I just need to elongate the holes, to push the claws in more.

A little too "tacti-cool" for many peoples' taste, but it sure was fun to put together

I didn't like the bulky thread protector, so I fitted a more profiled one. It was 2mm longer, and since the adapter isn't fully threaded, I had to cut some of the threads for it to sit flush.
