IMMMMMM BACK...
Got my rail from DTB, took apart the new GSG, put the 9" barrel and my other parts from my other GSG back on.
Mount needed some fitting. Clamps were one piece per side and interfered with the unshaven receiver. So I cut those and had to shave them down a little bit to tighten. There are some other things I need to work on.

Well that mount is way off bore axis. I got another one coming in a week, that I'll see if it is straighter.
Yeah I've got to check how mine works out with the OEM front sight... Since I shaved off the receiver, will be somewhat harder to assess...
Then again, I do have multi-range slots on the barrel assembly, so It might work out in the end.

Seems like the overhang forward rail section was crooked from rest of the base. So I trimmed that off.
May go Irons with this gun... I mean I got optics on everything else.

Also, I forgot who posted in the WTB section, but he's challenging us 3d folks to design a cocking tube more like an mp5.
I've looked at that possitiblity, and without any hard impact considerations that's SUPER EASY to design/print...
However, I'm mostly concerned at the area when the cocking handle smashes the tube when you slap it.. might have to lace that end with a harder aluminium insert of some sorts.

yeah i firgured as much... an inner metal ring could be places inside the 3d part to catch the blunt of that force though...

I ordered the CYA buttstock and handguard from Tiger111 for 55.00 USD. I ground down a 20mm short rail at an angle so the handguard angle is more level for a light or whatever.
Most Airsoft companies carry these stocks, they are okay for the price.
