So what optics are people using to clear the diopter irons?
I was concerned that a micro red dot might sit too low?
Just waiting on a 4 position lower and choosing a sight and it'll be done me thinks

Any MP5 safety selector that will work on GSG16?
Toronto Airsoft has instock now and they are very a reliable seller

I printed an AR-style safety (I had white PLA filament installed so I used that. I will use black PETG next). I plan on printing an AK-style safety for the right side.

Sadly sold out it appears. I can't find any others either on Ebay/ali/etc.
Good luck with Hero, they always say they have stock when they don't. I had to threaten going to Visa as they seldom respond....Ended up getting one from Hero outdoors.

Hey Folks,
I am in the process of building an MP5-SD clone out of my recently acquired GSG-16. I want to get as accurate as possible, so I will eventually install the GSG-522 conversion kit with it's more authentic front sight and mod in a correct MP-5 style drum sight. However, I also want to find an excuse to buy a Trijicon MRO 2.0 and a Scalarworks LEAP mount. That mount comes in 3 different height configurations:
1.42" Absolute co-witness
1.57" Lower Third co-witness
1.93" No co-witness
I am thinking the 1.57" mount would work best on the GSG-16 with HK MP5 style iron sights. I have no basis in fact for that, just a guess based on looking at pictures.
Does that seem like the right sight mount for this gun conversion?
I'm new to this, so any guidance would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Eamonn
If you dont shave the top of the receiver, the GSG522 front sights and rear HK diopter sights wont line up and will be decoration only. Stock Factory sights however work fine
Has anyone replaces the take down screws to the pins like the actual mp5? Of so where do you find the pins? How do you do it? Or are you able to? Thanks
