The handgun panic sell is getting out of hand.
There's no reason a decent condition S&W 686 should be up for $500, or Walther PPX's selling for around $400.
I understand supply demand and that a buyer's market makes for over-competition, but this is madness.

I've been buying as much as I can, lol. Doing my part to level the market out.
There's no way I'd sell anything at this rate, it'd be a darn WASTE.

Keep up the good fight, buy all the hand guns....BLAT, BLAT, just remember you need mutliple Glocks in your life to prevent the walls from caving in.

Also, loose lips sink ships, along with poor engineering, just a thought....

Heck many years ago I bought a brand new 586 with a 4 way sight for $425. now that was many years ago . and 686 smiths were only selling for a little more . if I remember right .

Where did you see that 686? I checked the EE for a panic buy as soon as a saw your post but... lowest one is $600. Can't really justify the purchase right now but at that price... I would have to do it, no matter what the wife says lol.

I haven't seen anything I would consider influenced by any sort of panic. There are always deals that pop up. The only blowout prices I have seen were attached to guns with stated and fairly serious issues.

While I don't look everywhere every day, I haven't noticed anything that suggests panic. Where are you looking, if we're allowed to share that info?

I have been looking at that forum for some time. The only reason some prices are getting lower is that the market is gluttoned with certain models (ex. all glocks ever) and cheap pistols such as the PPX (not really a nice pistol IMO). The only thing the govt will get from me if they confiscate pistols will be a stripped frame.

The only panic selling I have seen is a limited amount of the soon to be prohibited CZ858 models.

I'm on the look out for S&W model 27 or 28 at rock bottom prices, I'll even branch out and buy a model 29, but then I would also have to buy dies and brass.

something about those older N frames

I bought a PPX range kit for $425 a year or two ago. And my 686 was $600 with speed loaders.

I haven't seen any panic

I keep a pretty close eye on the EE and as others have mentioned, haven't seen any panic-sell pricing. Maybe a bit more selection than usual, but that could be just some people looking for a little Christmas cash.

LOL! 686's are $760 new at Tenda with lifetime warranty through the excellent Murray Charlton. Used ones should be $500-600. Only on the CGN EE the standard used price is $850.

I'd agree. I have sold a few guns recently and was quite happy with the prices I got.
