The Infidel - update w first group

Are there plans for left hand bolts with right hand port?

Looks GOOD

We can make it any configuration you wish. Rich and I opted to go right bolt , left port repeaters for the initial test units, but right , right or left , left or right left or left right bolt and port configurations can be done as well as repeater or single shot.

So you have orders but non are made to date? Cost? I wonder if I should have one done up in .308 in the McMillan A5 stock like you have done ATRS and skip the AICS stock ... hmmmm! Hope you're making headway on sales/production on a great looking CDN product gents. Cheers,

We have several orders for them, we are manufacturing them at this very moment.
As we continue refine the manufacturing process, the time of machining is decreased so the pricing will reflect this.
I have no doubts that our actions will never be cheap, which is fine or common place, which is also fine. Top quality however, they will certainly be.:D

Wow. Can't believe I overlooked this thread.

Very cool looking action. Any updates, new pictures etc. How about a look at the Maverick Long Action model. Do yo have any plans for a 50 BMG version? :)

I got to handle/fondle my Infidel action today, it is very close to being finished. Can't wait for the rifle to be done!!:D

We will be making an extra long action which will be called a "Maverick" as well as an action suitable for a 50 in the future. The Maverick will be suitable for 300win mag to 338 Lapua calibers.
We hope to have the Mavericks available in late spring, the 50 actions will probably be a 2012 project.
We were hopeful of having the Maverick actions further along by now , but unforseen set backs have occurred in production.

that is one sick loooking action / rifle...

2012 for a .50 you say.. hmm gives me 2 years to save up :D

now for the dumbest question ever... whats mounted on the scope (the front page pics) just behind the front ring? iv sceen level rings, angle finders etc, but cant figure out what that thing is :/, most of my shooting back ground is in pistols, and any scoped rifles i have are bare bones basic...

Not at all a dumb question.
THAT is a gizmo made by Leupold, I know a blasphemy to have a Leupy part on a NF scope. The gizmo is a retractable scope dope chart to write come ups on. Same idea as a drop chart just WAAAAY more cool and conveinent

If I may give this another bump...

I understand this is probably the most high end action a Canadian can find, but what other developments have been made? Any more range reports? How many have been sold?

The reason I ask is because I'll be selling my current rifle at the end of the season to fund a new project and your products, allthough expensive, have my attention.

Actually your timing is excellent.
We had a major set back in late 2010 when tooling, fixtures and programs somehow disappeared from the shop. So only 2 actions were actually ever completed. Several others were left unfinished during this time and later I scrapped them.

So back to the drawing board I went. We just got back 2 actions from heat treat on Oct 21st that we will be making into rifles over the next week or so.

The 1st Infidel actions had a welded on bolt handle, the new version has a true 1 piece bolt, which I believe is a major step up from the initial offering.
I can not speak for the 2nd action we made in the initial R&D run as it is not in my possession however the one I own is now on its second barrel, the first finally loosing acceptable accuracy at 5435 rounds, the replacement barrel has just over 1100 rounds through it, so I feel the action is pretty well proven now.
I also discovered a small design flaw with the recoil lug I initially designed and implemented, this has been corrected. It is always nice to be able to learn from someone else's mistakes.

AND while we were at it we decided to go ahead with making the Infidels big brother the Maverick action for 338 Lapua and such. All the same features as the Infidel action, just dimensionally bigger.

Hopefully in the New Year the 50 cal version will be a reality:D

They start off looking like this, bar stock and flat bar.

Before anyone asks we still do not have firm pricing in place, YES we purchase the firing pin assemblies from a well known supplier in the USA, YES we will be making them in repeater, single shot and with every port and bolt configuration, YES they will use any Remington style trigger.

Something that HAS changed since the initial version of the Infidel action is that we can now offer mag well cuts for use of the AW mags in 308 as well as the AICS mags.
The Maverick actions are set up for the AICS mags only.
