A little behind schedule our Infidel short actions are now a reality. :D The Maverick long actions are not far off, these will be longer and bigger to accomodate the 338 Lapua.

The action is machined from 15-5 stainless steel, is 1.350" diameter. The footprint is almost the same as a Rem 700 so any bottom metal that will work with a 700 will work with ours. Same with trigger and firing pin. The bolts are 4140, use a modified M16 extractor and are .725" diameter. Currently the bolts are 2 piece, with the handles tig welded in place, we are working towards a true 1 piece bolt in the future.

We devised what we believe is a superior manner of locating the recoil lug without weakening the action's integrity with holes for the recoil lug to pin into. The tenon is .250" longer than the 700 has and the barrel thread uses a .100" locating step that centers the barrel in the action, rather than relying strictly on threads to locate.

These 1st ones are right hand bolt, left hand port, but other configurations will be available in the future.

Wow looks fantastic Rick!

Reminds me very much of a Stiller Tac-30 with the bolt release and shape of the ejection port but left port

I love the bolt handle and design of the recoil lug.

It is great to have a custom action available in country.

are your prices in line with Stiller or other similar makers?

Holy Shyte, Batman!

That's one beautiful action! :D

Thanks for doing this, Rick! What a thing of beauty. Now we have an alternative to the other USA made actions! :dancingbanana:

Do I get 75% off a long action for helping pick the name :D Who am I kiding still couldn't afford one, Some day Some day. Looks good Rick.

Amazing! Looks great from the pictures, and I like the little touches like Maple Leaf on the bolt, and the serial number starting 10-0001. Will you continue with putting the year into the serial number? I think its a great touch. Will the bolts fit in regular Remington 700 actions or plans for a bolt that will?

Damn all that you need to do is get into the stock making market, and your set!

Can't wait for an update, and pictures of a complete rifle... as usual I have no doubt every thing will turn out top notch.

LOVE the name of the short action.
LOVE the maple leaf.
Nice recoil lug design with the beveled edges in the proper places and the indexing lug.
Nice, simple low rail, well attached.
Nice looking port opening.
Nice bolt release button even though I don't like that style at all.

Which condition was the 15-5 treated to and I'm going to guess you get the stock in that condition?

What Rc is the bolt?

Any pics of the bolt head and action face/internal lugs?

Are you offering shrouds that have the same finish? Did you make the shrouds?

Thread specs appear to be the same, 1.062x16?

I asked the guys at Nesika on making those bolts out of a block of 4340. That sure is a lot of extra work and when I talked to them about it I wondered if they regretted it.

Don't want to get into details about heat treating as it took a fair bit of
research to get the mechanical properties exactly where we wanted it.

Material is supplied in solution annealed condition, rough machined, then
heat treated to the final condition, lug ways wire EDM'ed, then finish machined.

Shrouds, bolt body and handle were outsourced from the same company that makes
them for Stiller, the camming surfaces on the bolt handle are machined
after action finish machining to perfectly mate with each action's camming surface.

Packing up for the gun show presently, more details to follow ;)
