"The Jack" - Would you get one?

I think it's an excellent idea, poorly executed. I've seen that turkey before, orating, pontificating and BLOVIATING on a number of subjects and he usually manages to get it wrong more often than not. Whatever.

I like that some are trying to introduce flair and elan to their firearms. Elegant, understated enhancements can go from stylish to tasteless bling in the blink of an eye. The AR is an incredibly difficult platform to stylize and I haven't seen anyone successfully do it yet. The boys at Turnbull Restorations had a great idea of colour case hardening their AR's the same way they did to their heart throb lever guns - and it just fizzled. I think the problem is that the AR is anathema to most artists - it is strictly utilitarian with no room for extraneous touches and that is why this particular enhancement fails. It just doesn't flow with the rest of the gun.

I wish I had time to prognosticate on the subject myself.

Seems like unnecessary added weight, bulk, and snag hazard. If it's your thing, go for it. I'd rather just have a regular lower.

If it wasn't so expensive for something that doesn't do anything more than a standard lower I might consider one. I'm not the type to pay a bunch of extra money for things that are only cosmetically different.
I like the Hellbreaker one the best of the three but again it's a lot more money for something that serves no function.
I like Spikes Tactical AR parts and I'd be just as happy with one of their standard lowers and put the extra money towards the rest of the build.

I think there is probably a market for these though, same guys that drive jacked up pickup trucks with big mudders and never take them off the pavement who also get meaningless tattoos so they look badass would like these. f:P:

It's a novelty like 50% of the current AR 15 pieces for sale as The rifle is now a gadget and has become a novelty in its own right. If some one wants to spend money on lights, colourful furniture, bolt releases or the Jack go ahead. It's just a toy.

the one reason I would want one is to do some insane cerakote work.

Not into the Jack but the Hellbreaker will be mine, was always a big fan of the P40 Warhawk as a kid. Hopefully I can pull off the paint job :)

The thing instantly reminds me of a buck toothed hillbilly, not a skull.
Just my first, second, and third impression though.

No thank you - ever.
