"The Jack" - Would you get one?

I think there is probably a market for these though, same guys that drive jacked up pickup trucks with big mudders and never take them off the pavement who also get meaningless tattoos so they look badass would like these. f:P:

Hey, shut up!

Oh man, that was great!

:wave:Diversity makes the breed stronger! If we all drove the Same car we couldn't all fit let alone agree where to go first! If some one hadn't cut off the carrying handle there would be no flat top's to mount optics! So you don't see the need or the use for something easy ! Discount it problem solved. The history books are filled with leaders that have opressed artists and free thinkers with all manner of Detentions .And while I am on the soap box" wasn't this rifle used to fight These Draconian ideas? So you don't like it for what ever the reasons ( good or bad) that is you free opinion "as is your right not To buy it . So please stop the snobbery.Thk:cheers:

I wouldn't call it snobbery, I find objects or designs that improve performance an asset. Things that make you look like a douchebag wannabe and are tacky and childish are not improvements.

I wouldn't call it snobbery either...what I'd call it is not as nice. It's not my cup of tea either but posturing that you're only interested in things that "improve performance" is just silly. I absolutely love designs that improve performance. I also love the artistry and beauty of some things that serve no practical purpose at all! This goes for guns, cars, watches, women ;), you name it.

I haven't been around CGN very long but I've been around long enough to witness this particular forum slowly turning into a competition as to who can jump on the band wagon the quickest. It's a shame.

As I said, the Jack is not my cup of tea but I think it's cool and if I bump into someone at the range with one, I'd love to check it out whether you're wearing a Tapout shirt or not. I'm not prepared to judge you by your lower or your t-shirt...if you're a douche, I don't care what you're shooting or what you're wearing.

Having an interest in performance enhancing options is far from silly, it's called progress and evolution. Some prefer to go after the unique and artsy items, I have no time for such useless items. Paying extra for a novelty design does nothing to improve performance or make my budget stretch any further. Generally speaking, those who are more concerned with looks than performance, can't perform in the first place and are not interested in improving their performance. It's more about posing and we all know what title derives its name from that word..

Personally I like the look of the Jack lower, I have been toying with the idea of doing an AR build sometime, but I couldn't decide exactly what I wanted, now that I have seen the Jack, I think I want to do a build around that, it will certainly stand out from the crowd a bit.

I was really thinking of getting one, but for $500-600 I really think it should have some extras like ambi bolt release. I mean if you spend all that time 3D machining a skull into it, why not add in an ambi bolt release/mag release

For that reason I have decided to spend my money on a different billet lower

Because you burned through so much tooling creating a skull that "extras" like something you might use aren't an option.
