Look at the first part of the sentence you underlined: "With solid bullets.....". With proper expending hunting bullets lots of "shock" is transmitted.
I hope you're just having fun and trolling with your big bores over .40 cal, some may find your idea of a suitable big game cartridge a bit ridiculous.


Doing a euro mount with this one. My Bull Elk was done as a euro mount which was a 1 shot DRT kill with a 300gr TSX bullet impacting at 2400 fps from my .45-70 Ruger No.1. Quite a sight to see a 1000 lb Bull Elk hit the ground so hard it bounced.

...I have dropped two moose, (a cow and a 34 in bull), the cow was hit in the neck and tipped over after one step. The bull was hit in the lungs before the bullet lodged in the far shoulder. He just dropped in his tracks. Both were shot with my Win 300 Mag using 180 gn corelocks...
To Jetjock: Was the Bull up close in a highly agitated and aggressive state (and potentially dangerous) responding to your calls?
moose has never put on the list of dangerous game ...
