THE "LTR" thread

Id like to have a LTR, maybe 223. I had a 700 LVSF but would like the 1:9 of the LTR

too bad Remington dont chamber the LTR in 260 Rem, and twist it with a 1:8 tube. 2700 fps would be doable with a 142 gr Sierra, which has a BC of .580. Past 600 yards it trumps the 308, with less recoil

Get yourself a Mk4 LR/T 4.5-14x50; those things have a ridiculous amount of eye relief. I was getting right up there, off the bench and prone, and the thing never came near my eye.
Sorry for the wait all, but I never have time to take any bloody pictures! I'll see if I can get some time this weekend after weekend BMQ.

So guys...this "LTR" club...what if I don't have an LTR? How about just the "Remington Tactical" club? And can we make shirts???

well last night I took the LTR to my father inlaws the pond is well frozen so we hung a gong out a 405 Meters Dialed in my Dope, held low and left for the first round(cold bore) and Smack, first round hit just off the bull, second shot held a touch higher and a little less left,Smack, almost the same inpact, wind came up a touch, fired my last shot with a dead on hold.....Smack just off the center of the bull this was with the 175SMK load,I could see the inpact Splash in my scope I can't wait to get my NightForce!!!the Gong I made up was a 15" circle painted yellow with a black 4" dot in the center

A Leupold 4.5-14x40 or 50/equivalent would be the adequate glass for an LTR...

Jamie really wants an S&B PM-II................:D :p ;) :dancingbanana:

I would personally go for one of the M1/LR 3.5 - 10 X 40mm MK4s if you are goin the Leupold route.......you can find pretty decent deals on the mused if you are patient.

But you can't go wrong with a Nightforce either.;)

I have had lots of Leupolds.....

why I Picked NightForce is well number one is I have no funds for the S&B PMII:( it was my first pick,USO's are ugly and a tad more then I wanted to spend too,NightForce I love the NP R2 reticle( I want to get away from mil-dots) the New SnipersHide IOR looks like it might be the ticket and FFP too!!But that might be four or so more months....Leupold well they are awesome!!but its time to change;)

the 3.5/15x50 has everything I need to the funds!!but apart of me says to get the 5.5/22x50 for the longerrange stuff!!I turn 30 this year and it won't be long till the eyes start to go on me:D

so who can draw up a Club Logo???SkullBoy??

Since the LTR is a "Shorty" rifle, how about " SIZE DOESN"T MATTER........IT'S HOW YOU USE IT" as a motto.......:dancingbanana:

Jamie, I was VERY close to buying the NF that you are looking at.

The reason I didn't, was that I lucked out and a new 5-25X56 PM-II suddenly became available through the canellation of a previous deal. :D

If that one didn't come up I was looking at a 4 month+ wait for one.

I got the PM-II from ED BEGG @ V-BULL Precision. He also carries NF, USO, and all the othe big name optics.;)

Oh Jamie, I was bored the other night, have the best Logo for you, when I get some energy I will scan it in and sent it to you. or post here for all to see.

oh SkullBoy that S&B of yours needs some Paint

Jamie Barkwell

No paint for this one. I will simply wrap it in some old CADPAT cordura I have kicking around. if needed.

I might want to switch it over to my SPR every so often, so Black is a better color.;)
